Jerebel is all grown up now. And she knows exactly what she wants.

In the 3rd installment of the series, Jerebel has escaped Tynae's realm where she was trapped for months with her arch enemy, Nolan. But she is changed: she now has maturity, clarity, and her full magic. She is accepting of her fate as the infamous hybrid, somber in this acceptance, yet determined to defeat the evil that has changed their lives forever. However part of her still longs for a life, not as the chosen hybrid destined to fight this epic battle on the side of the light, but as a woman with hopes and dreams of her own.

She is now traveling by sea with her crew, in preparation for the dark days of ultimate battle that lay ahead. But there is much to be done, such as an army to be built. So she journeys in search of that army. But in the shadows of her dreams there is someone watching, waiting.

The story is narrated from the points of view of various characters in 3rd person. The transitions between character narration is flawless. I don't know how the author did this so well, but I always knew who was the subject of every section.

These stories are creative and the characters are deep. I cared about them all, the good and the evil, which is certainly a testament to the author's ability to develop excellent and realistic characters. I could easily picture the lands travelled and the battles fought, as the author is an expert in writing the scenes with beautiful and sometimes appropriately disturbing imagery.

The writing style is effortless yet intelligent, as if the author was born to tell the story. The story has so many unique and well-developed characters, and some new ones are introduced in each book.

This is a series. To get the full understanding and enjoyment out of this story, start with book 1, Jerebel, and read them in order.

This is a series that I can read again and again, and I will. This author truly delivers, and I am excited to see what she might give us next!
