The very name Ironwood evokes images of strong and beautiful men and women caught in the relentless pursuit of hedonistic pleasures. Those who find themselves captive to their masters' desires are once again drawn to Ironwood - that timeless establishment of strict and rigorous discipline - in this latest novel in the best-selling series.
(Pseudonym) Who is Don Winslow? Hard to say; but we can only tell you who he is NOT. He is not the REAL Don Winslow. That honor belongs to a guy who writes whodunits for a living. In a case of bad timing (for him) the fake Don Winslow emerged in the golden age of erotic fiction and had established an international reputation as a writer of quality erotica. Then along came the author with birthright to the name and, as he struggled to become a literary icon in his chosen genre, he found to his alarm that people kept asking him if he still wrote those “dirty books.” One can sympathize with a writer who tries so hard to be taken seriously, only to find his reputation soiled by a common pornographer! And so it goes. Life is unfair.
And so we can tell you dear reader that the fake Don Winslow is an internationally best-selling author who has written some 20 books of erotic fiction.
I guess this book is written by a man for men. I got bored when it got repetitive midway and the ending annoyed me. Did they really have to turn Katrina, the only female dominant in Ironwood, into a submissive as well? Nope. Didn't work for me. Still, I guess it will titillate some people.
