The two girlfriends can't help being fascinated by the handsome millionaire and his coldly remote mistress. But their curiosity leads them into more than they bargained for when they accept an invitation to spend the weekend at his secluded retreat in the hills. Katerina in Charge is a story of seduction, submission, and initiation into the strange ways of an odd couple with an insatiable appetite for the outer fringes of sex.
(Pseudonym) Who is Don Winslow? Hard to say; but we can only tell you who he is NOT. He is not the REAL Don Winslow. That honor belongs to a guy who writes whodunits for a living. In a case of bad timing (for him) the fake Don Winslow emerged in the golden age of erotic fiction and had established an international reputation as a writer of quality erotica. Then along came the author with birthright to the name and, as he struggled to become a literary icon in his chosen genre, he found to his alarm that people kept asking him if he still wrote those “dirty books.” One can sympathize with a writer who tries so hard to be taken seriously, only to find his reputation soiled by a common pornographer! And so it goes. Life is unfair.
And so we can tell you dear reader that the fake Don Winslow is an internationally best-selling author who has written some 20 books of erotic fiction.
Some time ago, I read the various Ironwood books by Don Winslow and enjoyed them more than Katerina in Charge. Katerina is more of a supporting character than a leading one. So, the title is a little odd.
I only give this book two stars. It is okay for this kind of book, being part of the erotica genre. However, I think that some books by Patrick Henden, some books by Richard Manton, and some 19th century books by Anonymous are better. Other books offer incest as an enhancement. Some books offer underage girls, although the girl on the cover of Katerina in Charge appears to be fairly young and appears to represent the character named Crissy.
Katerina in Charge is not the best erotica that I have read but it is okay.
Bought it on Kindle after somebody recommended Don Winslow. Hadn't seen big time authors do erotica since Anne Rice, so for $7 thought I would try it. Typical stroke material. High end Penthouse Forum. I would have paid like $7.50 or $8 if somebody would have edited out the typos. Nothing like a typo a page to break the illusion of wealthy mansion S&M.
