"Ghost Lovers" explores the intimate encounters between those of this world and those inhabiting the realm of the dead. A rookie cop meets up with the spirit of a deceased leather master when he is assigned to patrol a former bondage club that is slated for destruction. A temperamental porn star who insists he only 'tops' commits a fatal error when he mocks a deceased 'top' star of an earlier era. Follow the adventures of a fraternity president when he makes the mistake of assuming that a house was deserted. A gumshoe in 1948 New York City takes on a case that 'takes him on'. Then go back to the Roman era in the age of Augustus for a story about two enemies and the time they spent in a forest after brutal battle. Finally we conclude with a bizarre tale entitled "I Stalked The Undead".
Kyle Cicero is a native of the NYC metro area. When not thinking up new tales, he spends his time discovering novel aspects of gay life in the everchanging City that he calls home. He has previously written six books of short stories and one full length novel. Most Saturdays, he can be found enjoying a frozen Appletini with his friends at their favorite Chelsea bar.
So this collection of short erotic fiction is about on par to what you might expect, particularly from the early aughts. Some grammatical and formatting errors, but nothing too distracting. Out of the six tales, four feature non-con rather heavily and the forced submission of someone cocky and otherwise dominant. These are not the type of stories I enjoy reading overly much, to be honest.
However, the fifth story, Teutoburg Forest, 9 B.C. is quite lovely. I would enjoy an entire collection of more like it. And the last story, I Stalked the Undead, was hilarious! A great way to end the collection!
