Serge Poliakoff: Catalogue Raisonne 1900-1954

Poliakoff was born in Moscow in 1900 and emigrated Paris in 1923. For the next twenty years he earned his living as a cabaret guitarist. He began painti ng at the age of twenty-four and held his first exhibition, at the Galerie Drouant in 1931.
