Sector 64 Omnibus #1
By Dean M. Cole
This includes Ambush and Retribution. I read Ambush a couple of years ago, and now I have a few more in the series. Since it has been a bit, I wanted to refresh my memory by re-reading Ambush.
Ambush introduces the characters. There are friends, fighter pilots, and two are lovers, Sandy and Jake.
Jake and his wingman encounter a UAP/UFO, and his wingman apparently died. When Jake tells what he sees, he is handcuffed and taken away. Things go crazy from there on. Like encountering something like that wasn't crazy enough.
Retribution takes it from where Ambush ends. No slack. The aliens are attacking. Many truths are told to Jake and Sandy. The aliens were our ancestors and the reptile aliens who wanted to destroy us. Great sci-fi! Loved the tech and action.

Finally after reviewing by the requests of authors and narrators about 200 audiobooks I found some time to actually listen to an audiobook that I chose and I enjoyed every moment of it, so much that I couldn’t put it down and was done with in two days, the whole 21 hours of it.
I sure do love it when an author creates one book out of his whole series, it sure does saves money or credits, just like with this audiobook.
Narration was perfect so no complaints there.
I do recommend this audiobook without a doubt.

Full disclosure, I received this boxed set as part of a free promotional give away. I was not asked to review it.
This is a heck of a high octane story line. the characters, for the most part, seem real enough for me to become emotionally involved with their plights. At times, the way Air Force pilot Sandra Fitzpatrick reacted to certain events felt a little... off. She is a combat pilot and is highly trained, yet I felt as though a few times she is written as a damsel in distress. For the most part, she is portrayed as a highly skilled and fully capable woman who I would have no problem following in combat, if I were a trained warrior, that is.
I read both books straight through, so it felt more like one book to me rather than two. I wonder if it was originally written that way? Irregardless, the story itself was highly enjoyable. There were a few minor plot points that I question, but you have to suspend disbelief every now and then, right?
There are some interesting twists in the story that I have not run across before. It's always nice when you read something original. Overall, I highly recommend the Sector 64 series to anyone who enjoys military sci-fi.

I found this book series to be very entertaining. It was a grabber. The writing is very smooth, providing immersive descriptions of environment, emotions and conflicts. In my retirement, I want to sit down to a good read that provides grabbing entertaining as if at the movies or simply watching TV. It flowed and allowed me to become fully immersed in all aspects of what was happening. I look forward to reading future Dean Cole books.

Great books. Of course I enjoyed the first one better, but the second one, set mostly in space, was non-stop space battle action!

This s a great sci-fi book set. Not only do we have bad aliens but good aliens as well. If you can call the good ones aliens. Haha. A battle for planet Earth is rather emotional at times. But, the author gets you through it with bits of humor. Some of the theories seem way out there, but that's ok. That's what makes good sci-fi. I think any sci-fi lover would enjoy these books.

This book is exciting blend of combat and awakening. This is the sort of read I look for. I am glad I bought it.

Great Read!
Really enjoyed this short series, and hope the author has plans to continue it in the future. It definitely has the makings for spinoffs or continuation with the depth of plot.
