On Friday, August 26, 1966, in the early afternoon, our mother, Patricia Anne Foley Browning, died at home of colon cancer. She was three months shy of her forty-first birthday. She left behind seven children, ranging in age from seventeen to three, and although she died much too young, she left behind a legacy of joy and laughter. This book is a collection of stories that made our mother who she was: a loving, complicated, funny woman who will always be missed.
