Interview with the Author — June, 2016:

Q – This book is a sequel to Gone?

A – Directly. It's set a few months after Gone, just before the Presidential election.

Q – It's coming out pretty quickly after Gone. How did you do that??

A – The book wrote itself. And it's short. (Laughs)

Q – So the idea was pretty natural, another conspiracy?

A – The opposition is desperate. I'm not saying that's happening, but it's not really a stretch.

Q – It seems like the book has a big emphasis on time.

A – You know the saying: money comes and goes, time just goes.

Q – It sounds like it moves fast.

A – Even faster than Gone. It's a good summer read.

Q - Why should readers give this book a try?

A – I love reading mysteries, detective and political thrillers. Missing combines those genres in one book. Hopefully anyone who reads it will enjoy that, too. It’s a crime thriller that leaves you wrung out and satisfied. The heroine pays a life-changing price, and there's a bit more romance than the previous books. It twists and turns all the way to the end.

Q – Are there prequels or sequels available?

A – Yes, Annie McCarthy stars in the novels Illusion and The Greatest Game, Control and the Control Series, and of course, Gone. Please see my author page for those books.

Q – Anything you would like to add?

A – Thanks for reading!

About the author

Andy King

20 books3 followers
Careening down the switchbacks of Highway 1 in Big Sur, it came to him -- he had to do something. With the stories he'd lived through, sharing them was almost good works.

Early on King was a professional musician, then worked in the motion picture business. Later demoted to the software industry, he realized that the keyboard had been following him around for years, so...it was time to write books.

King's debut novel, Illusion, was based on a person he knew with a what-if twist: what if the former-drug-dealer-now-bar-owner was a nice guy, a moral guy, not a maniac, but pursued by consequences from his past? Crime thrillers evolved, like The Greatest Game, starring female sleuth, Charlotte Coil. A slice of inspirational romance with a dash of the paranormal came from other characters King has known, colorful people with checkered pasts, mashed up with urban legends.

The books feature dark romance, mystery and suspense, political figures, terrorists and mafia assassins that result in Secret Service, FBI and CIA involvement. But they're no match for vigilante justice dispensed by the lead characters. You'll find them disturbing and intriguing in their quests for vengeance, and ultimately, freedom.

"A Thrilling Secret Service Novel"

This is a sequel to "Gone" by Andy King and encompasses a presidential candidate's plane downed ... somewhere, but where? Also aboard is Secret Service Agent Annie McCarthy and she wonders if she can a way to communicate to authorities while hoping to protect the hostages. She had already, this day, taken down a sniper at the campaign rally prior to the kidnapping of the aircraft. She's tough and she will devote all her power to safeguard this worthy candidate. This is a short story, thrilling and fast moving.
