The moment I met HAWK, I was CAUGHT. That was the night my boyfriend called me frigid in front of everyone at my favorite restaurant, and Jamie Hawk Fleming came to the rescue. Casually as you please, he proposed an no attachments, no feelings. Only hot, awesome s*x. That’s fine with me. I want to get over the humiliation my ex-boyfriend caused me, prove to myself I’m not frigid, and—let’s be serious, who can say no to a mouthwateringly handsome young millionaire? It’s surely an experience, right? Even if he doesn’t want to be my boyfriend, just my f*ckbuddy. I’m perfectly fine with that. If only my head—and my heart—didn’t have other ideas…

Hawk Baby !! i loved this one oh my goddddd and the sex ehh HOT which suits the hottie that is Hawk little on the fence about Layla right now but this is really short so i am off to get my hawky fix ! whoop so excited for this one
Amazing start to "Hawk" with this prequel! "Caught," Sex and Bullets #1.5 by Jo Raven is the prequel to "Hawk," Sex and Bullets #2. Right now this novella is free on Amazon. Told from Layla's POV, this short story introduces us to Hawk and Layla and what led to their no-strings relationship. "Caught" is a quick story that tells how Hawk, being in the right place at the right time, comes to Layla's rescue in a humiliating situation. Her dipsh*t of a boyfriend not only publicly breaks up with her, he also humiliates her by telling her that she is a frigid lover. Hawk and Layla were likable. While Layla is more open, Hawk is closed off and mysterious. These two have some off-the-charts chemistry and aren't afraid to get down and dirty. SO, I'll say here that this is a novel for mature readers. Truly I loved them together and I can't wait to read how their story continues in the next book, "Hawk." While this novella is told in Layla's POV, "Hawk," is told by both.
This was good, and I want to read on, but the guy in the cover of Hawk is so unattractive to me!!
I really liked this one, and I really want to go on and find out what is next, as this kind of has a cliffhanger ending. But, when I look at the cover of the next book, the model on the cover is soooooo unattractive to me, that it will make it hard for me to read and not picture him instead of the hot guy I pictured as I read this one. But we'll see, the sex scenes were definitely very steamy.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
One of the things I love about Jo Raven is that she knows how to hook her reader from the opening scene and keep reeling us in to the very end. After reading both the Inked Brotherhood and Damage Boyz series, I was impressed and quickly came to love her completely different and new series, Sex and Bullets, from the moment Storm was introduced. She ratcheted up the intrigue and heat and made us fall in love with a new group of sexy intense billionaires that dodge bullets in between limo rides and bouts of hot sex. In "Caught", Jo Raven introduces us to the newest sexy couple Layla and Hawk and gives us a tantalizing bite size read about how these two came to meet and devour one another. Layla and Hawk are mysterious with a capital Mmmm and leave us salivating and waiting for the next decadent bite of the whip in "Hawk".
From the moment that Hawk approaches Layla and her ex in the middle of the restaurant and he swoops into let Chance know what an idiot he is for letting her go and offering her a dinner that she can't refuse, I knew I was team Hawk all the way. Who wouldn't want this delectable suit wearing, dirty mouthed hottie who oozes self confidence and sex appeal like it is an expensive cologne? Hawk shows Layla and readers the darker side of desire and pleasure and leaves us on edge and craving to see the heights he will bring us in the rest of his and Layla's story.
Readers are taken on an emotional roller coaster ride with Layla through the waves of shock and humiliation rolling off her body, starting when Chance calls her frigid, to the quivers of pleasure and ecstasy that consume her from every touch of Hawk's fingertips or the slight sting of his flogger. Layla is a ball of need and confusion any time that Hawk is around or disappears without warning. A myriad of emotions were evoked from envy for the heat between her and Hawk to sympathy and fear of her heart breaking from Hawk's overly mysterious and odd behavior.
Jo Raven delivers a beginning to this thrilling, pleasure inducing love story that has us squirming with impatience for their mysterious conclusion. All we can be rest assured of is that bullets will fly, deceptions will be revealed, and there will be many more decadent steamy scenes for us to sink our teeth into. Layla and Hawk's story is far from over and we have just sampled the scorching hot beginning.
So hot, Hawk is so mysterious, a billionaire and bad boy rolled into one, I want the rest of the story like NOW!
I loved it, Jo Raven has really stepped it up with Hawk certainly hotter than previous books. Told in Layla 's pov your taken from Layla first meeting Hawk to the edge of the cliff.
Layla is a likeable character, an average girl. Layla meets Hawk while being publicly dumped by her boyfriend, finds out she's been cheated on and is then rescued by the hottie himself.
Fast paced, I whipped through this only to be left hanging. I feel like a child pressed up against a sweet shop window and the shops closed.
Really looking forward to more of Hawk. Brilliant Jo, I loved it, can't wait.

I gotta say, this is an author I've never read before, so going into this novella, I had no idea what to expect. But when you've got a guy who stands up in a room full of people after some other idiot does the unthinkable to his long time girlfriend and not only salvages her self esteem, but also the moment, well, I was sold. Hawk burst onto the scene in a pretty major way for me here and even though what came after, I was in no way prepared for, I can't say that I hated it. It makes me want to know more about him though, most definitely. There are rules with him, reasons for what he does with Layla and I think that I'll get them once and for all when I read his book (Hawk), but until then I just have to muse over. This story does have fifty shades style instances within it, so if you're starting out like me, know that going in, but the scenes were definitely steamy. My only real complaint is that there's a small part of me that wished Layla held firm in her need to step away, instead of repeatedly going back when he would up and disappear and then reappear. But again, I have a feeling, some of that will ( I hope) be dealt with in his full length book. Despite how she came across in this, I have a feeling there's strength we haven't seen yet buried in there somewhere and I for one would like to see it.
I seriously love Jo's books! This is fabulously written and unlike some of Jo's other books Hawk comes from money although he has troubles in his life that he's not ready to share. Layla who was recently been publicly dumped by her boyfriend meets Hawk immediately for a night of promised orgasms and nothing more but Hawk can't seem to stay away. Although he keeps disappearing as soon as he gets in touch she goes straight to him as she can't resist his hot body and promised sex! The sex scenes are seriously hot and I'm in need of a bunch of red roses!

You get just enough of Layla and Hawk in here to want more. In this short story, the tone and the book is set and you find out about Layla and her soon to be ex and what a complete douche he turns out to be in the restaurant. You also meet Hawk and you see him swoop in to save Layla and find out exactly why he does it. While he has ulterior motives, they are hot to read and set the precedent for a fantastic story. Sucked me right in and I wanted to devour him and the book!!
whoa.... this was a quick raunchy, hot read from Jo Raven. It was sexy and demanding... no sweet loving, no cuddling. Just pure sexual need seeping through the pages.
I'm loving the characters and how mysterious Hawk Fleming is. He's ruggedly handsome, gorgeous and rough in all the right places. He's my kinda book boyfriend. The mystery that surrounds him is intriguing and definitely sets the pace for Hawk's book.
Caught is a short and sweet read to prepare us for Hawk (Sex and Bullets #2). Man does this book leave us wanting MORE. It is written from Layla POV and basically shows us how Layla came to meet Hawk or Jamie Fleming. This book is HOT and all I can say is thank God I have Hawk waiting on my kindle.
Wow Hot and steamy, yet quick read that gets you hooked from the moment you start.
Wow Jo you've totally stunned me. I know you can write hot and steamy, this seems different to me. Hawk and layla seem to have different storyline than you're other books intense. God girl I hope there is more.
Loved this short preview and can't wait for the book to arrive. It seems like it's been forever since Storm came out. I read the other errors two series and can't wait to get my hands on these guys.
Oh holy carp jo. Thank the gods we don't have to wait to continue with this book. This was/ is Hot. Now I'm not ready to goto bed. I have to see how this will end. And Hawke is SEX ........
I would say short and sweet but there was nothing sweet about this! HOT, hot, hot! I can't wait to get stuck into Hawk tomorrow :D Super excited for this.
I'm glad I read this one before Hawk. I think it provided a lot of insight into Hawk and Layla's relationship when Hawk's book starts. I kinda loved how he swooped in on what could have been a mortifying night for Layla and turned it into something fabulous. And then kinda cheap. But he didn't make any promises. Heck, she never thought she'd see him again. And then she did. And then she didn't. Ad infinitum. I can see why she was so confused. But it was a great set up for Hawk's book.
So far Hawk ans Layla have proven to be quite intriguing. This book sets up lot of storyline that promises for major steam heat between these two in Hawk's full length feature. Cant wait for his take on Layla!
Layla meets Hawk at the worst time of her life. Her boyfriend breaks up with her in the middle of a restaurant with his lover by his side. Hawk comes to her rescue and a love affair begins.
I liked it!!!! Hawk and Layla are something else. Their relationship is definitely a whirl wind love affair. They don't even know what's going 9n. Feelings are flying everywhere.
So Hawk is one irritating man. I mean come on man, admit it already!!! This book is full of heat and I am glad I found this before reading Hawk's story which is where I am going now! Read it first!!! Good read
If you have to be dumped brutally in public, this is the best way to recover. I loved that Hawk stepped up and showed Layla what she was worth. He however lost me with the way he kept yo-yoing Layla, pulling her back in, then pushing her away.
Wow, this was really good for a prequel, quite complete. It is not often that I can give a short story 5 stars. You get to know about Hawk's and Layla's common history without taking anything away from the main story in 'Hawk'. Pretty good.
Hawk and Layla's beginning. This was so good...love these two. I loved how they met. This is a novella but gives good insight into this couple. Loved it.
