Kayna rebels, and seizes a chance at a better future with the help of a ruby enchanted by Merlin. Flung far into the future, she is rescued by a pirate in the unimaginably advanced year of 1742. Can the ruby help her win the handsome rogue’s heart, or is love a magic they must learn together?

What a fabulous box set brought to you by the authors that gave us Charmed By An Emerald, Catherine Kean, Caro Carson, T. Elliot Brown and Wynter Daniels. This fabulous box set takes you on a romantic journey with a most interesting stone, a rare magical ruby.
The set starts you on this journey with Catherine Keans story ONE KNIGHT IN A FOREST. Set in 1202 England with Lady Magdalen Suffield, a lady-in-waiting to Lady Edwina. Though while helping pack for Lord William she finds a note, a mission for an official to be murdered. Feeling she must do something to stop the murder, she takes off in the forest, taking her precious ruby with stag horns etched in it and a silver doe with her. With William's men close behind, she is startled by a man, the sheriff, Lord Cynric Woodrow. Upon hurting herself Cyn, takes her back to his home in the woods. He vows to protect her and with the power of the ruby, they may also be able to heal each other and find love. I couldn't put this down, I loved the story. How Magdalen and Cyn bond to each other and their adventure together. Catherins Keans writing just flows and you want more.
Next we take a journey through time with Caro Carson and HIS LOVER FROM LONG AGO. We start off in the time of King Arthur and Camelot, with Guinevere and her clerk Kayna. Kayna is sent on a quest to save Arthur, with a magical ruby (Merlin's ruby), with the horns of a stag etched in it. Though fate is not on her side. Jump to 1742 and on the ship of Captain Griffin Dennehay, a former pirate now privateer. Seeing what they believe is a man overboard, they pull up a woman, Kayna. Though both unable to understand each other Kayna and Griffin learn to communicate with each other. At first Griffin believes she is crazy when she talks of her past, but comes to realize she is speaking the truth. Kayna also finds out that Griffin has Merlin's ruby. Will the magic of the ruby lead to love for them. I love how Caro Carson does time travel and intertwines two time periods together. Kayna and Griffin learning to communicate with each other was my favorite part of the book.
A LOVE MOST PRECIOUS by T. Elliott Brown. Set in 1921, Chance Benedict Campbell, scarred from WWI, he is trying to change his life to what he wants instead of what his father wants. He needs this race at Saratoga Springs to set up his breeding stable. Going to the Travers Stake, he is invited to stay with his friend Robert and will finally get to meet his cousin Alexis, who has been secretly corresponding with. Alexis, who went blind as a teen, appreciates everything her relatives the Longworth's have done for her, but does not wish to marry their son Morgan. She aspires to make perfume in New York. She also secretly was excited to meet Chance. She wore her special ruby her parents bought for her before she went blind, that matched the one in her favorite fairy tale The Legend of The Midnight Stag. Could the ruby help her and Chance fulfill their dreams and find love with each other. This was a fabulous story and actually has me yearning to read more books from the 1920's. T. Elliot Brown immerses you in the era and shows how people can overcome anything in life.
CHASING THE STAG by Wynter Daniels. Mia Richards, a waitress in Freedom Bay, Florida is having a hard time. She isn't making enough money to pay her bills, she has a sick cat that need expensive medication and is on the verge of being fired. While at work Mia has a premonition of an older woman at the restaurant. When she lets the woman know, she believes Mia to be the psychic who can connect her to her deceased husband. When Mia, reluctantly goes to her house for a reading she is met by Brent, the woman's son who was the rude man from the restaurant. When she leaves the woman gives her a necklace with a large red stone, Mia assumes it is costume jewelry. Brent believes Mia and all psychics to be fake and when his mother appears to have misplaced the necklace he seeks out Mia. When Mia admits she had the necklace, but it was stolen, they set on a journey to find it, finding each other on the way. First I want to thank Wynter Daniels for taking me back to Freedom Bay and also taking me on another journey of intrigue. As with the others I could not put it down, it just flowed with wonderful plot twists.
I love how all these stories intertwined with each other so easily and beautifully. I read them quickly, needing to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next. I know you will do the same.

Chasing The Stag by, Wynter Daniels
Growing up in foster care without her own family, and not having anyone to count on, Mia Richards was very familiar with being disappointed, abandoned or both. She just can't seem to get ahead of things. She is still short for her half of the rent and she owes the vet money for her cat, Merlin who needs insulin. Her nightmares are getting worse lately and it looks like she is going to be late for her waitressing job, again... Little does she know that this day will mark the begining of a magical journey. It's not going to be all butterflies and rainbows at first, but it's going to be spactacular as a stolen ruby necklace, a kidnapping, a very rich, hansome man, and his very creative mother who inlists a little help from history each play out their part .... I was truly "Charmed By A Ruby" as it touched the hearts of these very special couples. I do recommend this as a must read to adults only please.
I was gifted this collection in return for my honest review.

She doesn't want her friend to get into trouble so she takes the letter, her ruby and a silver doe (also from her mother) and runs into the forest. Lord William and his men give chase. The sheriff, Lord Cynric Woodrow, sees her running from Lord William and gives chase also. She falls and hurts her leg badly. Lord Cynric scoops her up and brings her to his home in the forest. Cynric wonders why William is chasing Magdalen and tends to her wound and says he'll protect her. Can Magdalen rust him since he's a friend of William's, can she trust her growing feelings for him? A lot of intrigue, suspense and a few surprises at the end. Really enjoyed this story.
