The opening chapters where Cindy was discussing the decision to stay home really described my feelings as I was thinking about it a few months ago. It made me feel good about the choice to stay home.
Cindy's suggestions were interesting and creative. I liked one in particular about how to keep track of birthday cards that need to be sent out. She admits that her descriptions or what SAHMs should be doing are things she does on a good day and she has lots of days when she gets nothing done. Still, after a while, her "suggestions" felt incredibly burdensome and unattainable even knowing she doesn't do them every day. And then a lot of her suggestions indicated that her husband's salary is a lot more comfortable than my husband's. I don't have a budget to plan a surprise overnight trip with my husband. I can't afford go to a beauty parlor once a week or once a month for "me time." Basically, this book is a collection of tips. I plan to use some. A lot of them really won't work for me. But Cindy was entertaining to read the whole way through.
loved reading this book!.....Lots of ideas to keep you not only involved with your family but also your friends and church. Good Scriptural readings also....thanks, Cindy!
I've read this book several times and always come back to it when I feel overwhelmed by my growing list of obligations. This book reminds me how to put things into perspective.
