Updated in Summer 2023. This is the most current version of this book. Most textbooks are written for teachers. This one is written for students. Carefully crafted by a professional Spanish tutor after years of working one-on-one with students of all ages and ability levels. Specifically designed for students who struggle in a traditional classroom setting; new students of Spanish; and students who need a refresher from their high school or college Spanish days. The No Nonsense Spanish Workbook Have you tried other Spanish textbooks, workbooks, computer programs or apps and found that they don't work as promised? Don't give up. Here's why this book is The most successful Spanish learners have many tools in their toolbox. This workbook will be a fantastic addition to your Spanish learning toolkit. It gives students a solid foundation of grammar and the underlying structure of the Spanish language. This allows students to incorporate new vocabulary and concepts more efficiently, and to handle curveballs that may be thrown at them in the classroom or in the Spanish-speaking world. Learning a language is a complex and challenging process. Don't be fooled by products that promise to make you fluent. It simply doesn't work that way. But don't be discouraged. Millions of people in this world speak more than one language, and you can too. With this workbook, the proper accompanying tools and some hard work and dedication, you will be well on your way to becoming a Spanish speaker!
It is an amazing self-teaching resource. I've used a few different systems for self-study and this one is by far my favorite. It has ample space to fill out exercises and it is actually functioning like a workbook, giving you the space to work in it rather than expecting you to dedicate a damn notepad to writing things down. The grammar explanations are simple and quick, and the uses of font with people with learning disabilities in mind is helpful for anybody, really. I could not recommend it more. One thing I should note is that you may be better off using it after having some basis in vocabulary and sentence structuring (e.g. being somewhat deeper into Duolingo at maybe unit 3 or 4) as there are a couple of typoes in the answers that may make a person who is not too confident about their Spanish be confused a little bit (like, one of the answers has the phrase "noche oche" written, which isn't a thing, it was clearly intended to be just "noche" there but it was missed in editing). Other than that, I absolutely love using this thing. It does not promote itself as a student's book or grammar book (perhaps to avoid criticism for not being too deep in presentation of rulesets) but it says enough, in a simple, easy to understand fashion. Just amazing really.
