I listened to this on audiobook.
The story of the two princes is interlaced with the story of Mabel and the other members of the team getting locked in the tower. Action, humour and a history lesson ensues. I did get a bit of a giggle at the name 'Ricky T. Herd'. (Richard the Third- geddit?)
Just a note on the entry of this book on this site: there is a title typo. It should be 'Princes' and not 'Princess'.

Good children's book although mixed up story with another kidnap story which ruined it a bit. I suppose that is because it's a children's book and they can't go into too much historical detail as it could be off putting for the kids.
