I've had this probably since it came out, and I still don't know how I feel about it. In a parody/tribute to 50s hard-boiled dick movies, we follow diminutive dick Nat Slammer as he tries to find out who's dropping citizens in baths of disintegrating acid! It manages to be a slight sendup of the eras style and values, as well as a twisted tale in its own right. Walsh's writing does the job just well enough (though at times more than a little disorienting) and Kellie Strom's heavy-black art serves the story in a very Charles Burns kinda way.
Fun stuff, but not anything to go out of your way for...or pay more than a buck for.

ISBN 0878161864 is NOT HARDCOVER!

One of the most interesting books that I've come across because there are constant laughs without softening any of its hard-boiled sensibilities!

The art is completely singular and fascinating.

What led to that perpetrator being chosen?

When will they approve my librarian application- my list has hundreds of errors and missing pictures!
