A Knight to Remember surprised me on many levels - in a great way. I expected some amusing culture clashes as is so common since Catweazle entertained us. But the renaissance fair allows for a unique approach, where as many surprises await the modern day characters as well as the time-traveling knight. While there are amusing episodes, this novel is filled with tension, conflict and drama as the middle ages come alive in the 21st century. Well-written and fast-paced, Reynold and Courtney's adventures kept me turning the pages.
I don't usually read much in the romance genre, but a friend gave me this one, because she thought I'd like the horse in it. She was right. I did like the horse... and a whole lot more. It is a nice story, believable despite its unrealistic elements, and with great elements of tension to keep the "pages" turning. I also found the historical elements interesting.
A story worth reading, even if you don't usually go for romances!
A Knight to Remember is a poignant story of a time traveling, modern gal. Jenny Peverel finds medieval England to be a rather harsh place for a spirited, independent young lady. However, she does find the Lord of the castle to be very attractive as well as bossy. Jenny does require a fair amount of correcting as she adjusts to her new time. Stephen is stern and harsh at times. Love is woven into the story; and voila, a crafty story takes shape. Amusing, smart, humorous writing mixed in with some great descriptive language make this a merry romp of a read.
