This 1954 book is today dated by its black and white photography, however the house designs shown are still modern and vibrant. How shocking they must have seemed in that day. The homes and interiors covered are generally contemporary with a few very modern style ranches. The book covers exteriors including environment and gardens, interiors and building layouts. I think this book would be valuable to anyone interested in mid century modern homes despite the fact that all the houses shown are minute compared to today's McMansions. My only disappointment was the lack of the color element that would have been present in the homes.
