Winter of the Wolves
On a brutally cold winter day, Jess Hazzard discovers a young man lying unconscious and nearly frozen to death in the snow. He takes him home and works to save his life, not knowing he has been searching for Jess. Years earlier, Jess put a bullet in the man's father. He lived, but forever blamed Jess for his family's dismal poverty. Following the death of his beloved mother, the man set out seeking revenge against the gunfighter he believed responsible for everything bad that happened to him and his family. Now that he's found him, will he follow through with his plan for vengeance against the man who just saved his life?

A western with sensitivity.
I've now read the first three of the Jess series. There is certainly enough good description of the Wyoming west and some great action. The development of characters and their relations and interaction is very good.
An excellent read.

Weak storyline
I was more than halfway through and couldn’t finish, nor could I any longer tolerate Luke’s misguided anger, fostered by his abusive father. I enjoy this author’s writing but this one didn’t do it for me. Sorry.

I love this series. I like westerns and have read most of Louis Lamour books. Jackie's series reminds me of some of his books. If you like him give Jackie's series a try.
