This book was easy to navigate, factual, & the photos were interesting. I can honestly say I am walking away with knowledge of the history of Whitehall Palace, and Tudor knowledge I did not have before. This book is great for anyone studying Whitehall. It is a very easily guided book tour of the palace. I would also recommend this book for anyone interested more about the Tudor family. It is very informative about palace stays & the families influence on Whitehall. The author show's that Whitehall went through a great deal of transformation, many monarch influences, great events, and even saw an execution. It is a fascinating palace in history and this book greatly highlights that. The author has went lengths to show a written reconstruction of a palace during it's most metamorphic times. Later to show how something so magnificent can disappear in only 15 short hours.... Great book, I would recommend it. -Ashlee Payne: (Facebook group; Books of Monarchs throughout History)

Phil Roberts' passion for the ancient palace of Whitehall shines through in this gem of a guide to Henry VIII's royal palace. I must admit that I know very little about Post-Tudor English history so I was really intrigued by the author's recounting of the execution of Charles I. This book is perfect for anyone planning a visit to the site, but it is also an excellent reference for anyone interested in the scenes and settings of important historical events. Highly recommend!
