A straightforward book that integrates the traditional foundations of statistical inference with the more modern ideas of data analysis. Divided into three sections, it begins with a description of data in general and groups of numbers in particular. Part two develops concepts of randomness, probability and statistical inference. Lastly, it applies these ideas to more complex data structures and the analysis of relationships. This edition contains more problems, exercises and updated examples. Computer output is systematically included throughout the text.
Well it was a Basic toll for understanding the statistics and data analysis. It was one of the book I need to upgread my skills in statics. I need more reding in this subject but better to read this as well. It give good Basic background about it. Enjoy.
If you find you have to learn statistics or if you WANT to learn statistics but you have questionable math abilities this is the book for you. I'm only a few chapters in but Siegel and Morgan's clear, concise explanations of what could be difficult and confusing concepts in the hands of lesser mathmaticians leave me wanting more! Highly recommended.
