This is an insightful book on teaching practice. It builds on familiar ideas of student (and teacher) agency and restorative practice and relationship based practices developed through the Te Kotahitanga programme. However, the most important aspect of this particular book is a close critique on relationships within schools and how the interplay between different people (teachers and students), in the context of the existing school hierarchy, effects quality teaching and learning. I thought this was a fresh, exciting and practical book on good pedagogy. I would highly recommend it to any teacher.
