I guess "Bisexual Women (mostly) Sleeping with Other Women" wasn't a snappy enough title... Though it would have been a more accurate one. As a bisexual woman, the blatant bi-erasure in this book was especially frustrating to me - almost none of the POV characters in these stories were appropriately framed as a lesbian, yet they're mostly still called that. There's also a touch of "bi women are inherently slutty" since the few women who they actually bother to correctly establish as bi tend to either express interest in m/f/f threesomes or have a habit of sleeping around indiscriminately or even cheating. More harmful bi stereotypes we need enforced, apparently...

The basic 'plot' of each story was as follows:

1. "Hi, I'm a bisexual woman gymnast and I'm attracted to you!" "Really? I'm a bisexual woman gymnast who is attracted to you too!" "Wanna have sex?" "Sure! Wanna plan to have a threesome with a mutual male friend sometime after the story ends?" "Hell yeah!" /end of story

2. "Ugh, I'm a sexually frustrated British redhead who's also inexplicably still a virgin despite dating some guy for the last seven months! I really want some sexy guy to nail me hard and I don't care who it is! Oh well, I'll settle for my smoking hot previously-established-to-be-straight female roommate who I'm also attracted to after we have an in-story f/f/m threesome."
*This one had a WEALTH of typos, stilted dialog, and the most awkward sex scenes and imagery of all the book. You're probably better off skipping it.

3. Married woman's husband cheats on her with another man, so (after failing to find a suitable male to screw) she finds solace with her female boss, who is engaged to an abusive man. Fortunately, she manages to (probably) break of the engagement (after the story ends) with hot girl-on-girl action and sexy lingerie.

4. This one contained the phrase "I want to become a lesbian." Used unironically by a previously-straight woman (who is also a redhead? Apparently redheaded "lesbians" are common) after she breaks off her engagement to a man who is not fulfilling her emotionally. She says it to an already-established lesbian couple who were going to cater her wedding, and she then has a threesome with them that DOES apparently fulfill her emotionally and she begins a three-way relationship with them (or lesbians just are all trading partners all the time? It's not totally clear which way they're implying things go in this story, but they use the phrase "inducted her into the sisterhood" so maybe it's a wife swap situation?) Regardless, you don't just "become a lesbian" by sleeping with one (or even two), it's not an STD for crying out loud.

5. Another straight-girl-dumped-by-her-boyfriend-and-meets-this-amazing-girl-who-turns-her-into-a-lesbian narrative. Manager at a bar with a lesbian night hires a new (apparently straight, seeing as she and her male roommate bothered to address the possibility of dating and he also helps her in the dating scene) server and they just can't deny their attraction. Are there no lesbian women getting dumped by women and then meeting new lesbian women in this world? I feel like I'm reading bad hurt/comfort slash fanfiction.

6. Apparently female police officers are allowed to be established lesbians, because here (in the sixth tale out of eight) we have our first ACTUAL LESBIAN (with no lingering male attractions or male partner to dispose of over the course of the story). Falling for her new partner, who she hopes is also a lesbian. Or at least bi. (And we also get someone using the word bi!! This is the second of the stories to acknowledge that that's a thing!! Yay! Though it doesn't make up for the previous four stories completely ignoring that it's a thing...) There's also a secondary plot of the cops trying to rescue a crackwhore, but it gets totally dropped when things heat up between the partners. Ah well, it IS erotica after all...

7. Our narrator, a straight woman, goes away with her female friends for a weekend and ends up hooking up with her hot openly-lesbian dance-instructor friend and dance-instructor friend's girlfriend (after her boyfriend tries to (in the story) bang her out of going away for the weekend with said openly-lesbian friend because it made him uncomfortable and then maybe-dumps her when she still goes). She then comes back and gets back together with her boyfriend and (it's implied) still identifies as straight. It doesn't belong in a collection of lesbian erotica, but at least this one didn't treat lesbianism like an STD.

8. A repressed and married Midwestern woman meets a real, live lesbian from New York City and they get involved. This one was actually kind of tragic and believable, as it actually set up that Amy (our narrator) had been a lesbian all along, but in an environment that set forth to stamp it out of her because "God says it's wrong," leading her into an unhappy and unfulfilling marriage. Probably the best out of the collection narrative-wise.

Obviously no one is reading these stories for the so-thin-it's-almost-laughable plots, and I will say the sex was hot... even if the sex scenes were somewhat truncated for some reason. Going back to my initial point, there is also a LOT of heterosexual sex for a book that claims to be about lesbians. But I guess bi women don't sell as well? Regardless, the unnecessary and near-constant bi-erasure really got to me, as seen by my above soapboxing.
I also assume it was a self-published book, since it didn't appear to have an editor based on some of the could-get-past-a-spellchecker typos (Tai instead of Thai, finer instead of finger, sacred instead of scared, to name a few) littered throughout the finished product.
Oh, and as a former gymnast: running steps into somersaults into full twisting layouts? At best this was phrased awkwardly, at worst it makes no sense at all as moves in a gymnastics routine.
Overall it was an okay read - if you're reading it strictly for the sex. Which I imagine, based on the title, you probably are. Assuming you're not ACTUALLY a lesbian, of course, because the surprise penises that pop up here and there might kill an actual lesbian's libido...

Lesbian erotica?

Huge pokes and fellatio in no way qualify as lesbian erotica. I'm not sure if most of these were written by straight women or straight men. Spell check.

DNF

Not my cup of tea. Tried something different and I guess I just prefer more character in my smut. Not a fan of stereotypically porny plot, either.

Not my cup of tea

The Plot lines and writing is not great. About half way through I didn't want to finish the book. Unrealistic and very stereotypical.
