From School Library Journal

PreSchool-- Two vibrant lift-the-flap books that are sure to appeal to preschoolers. Rabbit uses his big ears and eyeglasses to help him hear and see "very well" during his walks through the countryside. The animals he finds hiding under bushes, flowers, and trees will be familiar to young readers--a duck, a bird, a fish, and a ladybug. As a clue, a small part of each creature sticks out from beneath the flap. The simple, repetitive language, "What can rabbit hear in the tree?" complements the large, childlike paintings that are heavily outlined and exceptionally vivid. The pace, text, and illustrations are just right for toddlers and will be relished at story times and at home.
