"This was more than just good entertainment for kids, this was the spark needed for my son to finally consider expanding his horizons beyond just an Xbox controller." -Matt Walterson (Reader from The Dad's Network)
"Grab yourself a three brain pizza and read all about wimpy teenage zombie Z. Wimpy Zombie Minecraft Diary is my new favorite Minecraft book. I've read several other Minecraft books out there and some are not very good and have very poor plots. This book is composed of 5 books and they all have really great developed plots and themes." -M.Meza (Amazon Top 1000 Reviewer)
This book is a wonderful children's story. I think that this story, and others like this one, is a great way to get younger readers excited about more books. This book reminded me of Diary of a Wimpy Kid with Zombie and monster characters, but I love that none of the characters were "scary". I would highly recommend this book to anyone really, but especially children's or middle grade readers. I only read book two, and I love how you don't have to read book one to understand what is going on. Also, the main character Z had a sort of conflict, and it was resolved in the most realistic way. I really just loved this story, and I will definitely be reading it to my children for Halloween. I really think the MineCraft elements are great for younger boys to read more as well, since I feel like the majority of books for this age group are geared for girls. Great job MC Steve!
Book 2 takes us through the fun month of October for the friends. Zombulon, "Z", our main character errrrr, I mean zombie, is in a writing competition against his older brother. Will it bring them closer together, or tear them even further apart?? As for the humans and the monsters, everyone loves celebrating Halloween, even if they do it differently. But does doing things differently mean it must be bad? I love this book as much as the first. The writing is enjoyable and easy enough for the kids to read, but the adults won't find it "cheesy". The story is entertaining and will keep their/your attention and want to keep reading till the end. And that is always a great thing!
This book inspired me to be myself and make new friends. It really is worth reading more than once. I liked how the brother was sometimes nice and sometimes mean because it relates a lot to my sister although she is nicer than Z's brother!
It is amazing how a competition can change perspectives and increase tension in a home. Z and R are both in the writing competition final and there are a lot of little stories within the main one. Also see how his series in the newspaper goes. I enjoyed it, easy read and fun for the younger age group who like minecraft.
