One reason I like Asaoka Modoru's novels as much as I do is because of how real they feel, and that is true even for a novel called "Sayonara, real". It's set in a world where there are humans as well as some humans with animal parts (wings, cat ears and such), and the consequences this has. The repercussions of this setting are dealt with in quite some depth and in a way that really resonated with me. I also like how mundane a lot of her stories feel, but in a good way. The reason this is four rather than five stars is that the story is split into three parts (or four) dealing with three pairings, and the main pairing was the least interesting for me while I would have loved to read more about the others.
This certainly isn't your typical BL novel, but I really enjoyed it.
