Reckless Abandon is now my favorite book by J.C. Hannigan, and that is saying something because I love all her books!!
In Reckless Abandon we start 5 years later than Damaged Goods. A lot has happened with Everly and Grayson's lives but neither of them have truly moved on.
Everly has to come home due to a tragedy. Little does she know but Grayson had moved back 2 years before.
When they see each other, all those feelings surface. Can they overcome all the secrets and hurt to have a future??
This book had so much heart. It made me cry, laugh, curse at times, and feel so much joy. It was the perfect book for Everly and Grayson. The twists and turns were perfectly written and kept me on the edge of my seat.
J.C. Hannigan really did these characters justice!! I can't wait for more from this author!!

In book two of the damaged series, Reckless Abandon, we find the conclusion of Everly and Grayson's story, and man is it an adventure.
Both Everly and Grayson have had a lot of growing up to do since the end of Damaged Goods. Choices have been made, some fraught with indecision. Grief looms for both characters over some of these decisions. And lying in wait, is an even larger storm brewing, waiting to tilt thier worlds again.
Everly has loved her life as a member of Autumn Fields, its her passion, its her life, but she's also felt something missing. She craves being with her family, she longs for something she can't quite grasp and when an unexpected tragedy hits, Everly discovers that she might know what's missing from her life, but can she right the wrongs of the past and take hold of her future?
Grayson, meanwhile, has regretted the way things ended with Everly pretty much since they ended. He's struggled with his own issues, with his own love of himself, and feelings of worthlessness. But when he finds out Everly is back in town, and why, he can't stay away. And he finds that maybe, just maybe he's got it in him to explain to Everly why things happened the way they did and attempt to make a go of it again. He knows he loves Everly, he hopes she loves him too.
But things have been hidden, truths have been left unsaid and there are more hurdles to cross over than either Grayson or Everly expect. Are they lying to themselves or can they find a way to let Love win.
Reckless Abandon, I feel, is JC Hannigan's finest work, the growth and changes we see in Everly and Grayson, and the unique way they work together and figure things out shows a lot of about the capacity of JC's writing skills. She takes situations that are hard to explain, hard to describe and/or make right and gives us the other side. She doesn't shush the opposing forces, or make excuses but rather gives us as readers a lesser known side that sort of gives us a deeper understanding.
Everly and Grayson's love has changed, grown, expanded, evolved between these two books, what was once a new love, a first love has become everlasting. These two have weathered storm after storm, climbed the mountain and shouted their victory, but its come at a cost. It was beautiful to watch these two figure out the prices they'd paid for decisions they made, decisions that should have been joint, but were not. They've learned from the past, but can the let go of it?
Reckless Abandon will hit you square in the heart, from emotion to emotion, you will be put through the ringer, but the trip is worth it. This book shows real unconditional love, it shows maturity, it shows character who own their faults, their mistakes, and find a way to love one another in spite of them. I loved their story.

Reckless abandon is the sequel to Damaged goods and J.C Hannigan does not disappoint.
The conclusion of Everly and Grayson's story is beautifully written and very descriptive making you really feel the emotions between these two.
Reckless abandon begins 5 years from where Damaged goods cliffhanger left off.
Everly has become hugely successful with her Band Autumn Fields and is living the high life in LA, but Everly has made huge sacrifices to be where she is and is also not over the heartbreak Grayson caused. When Everly's life takes a tragic turn she must return home to pick up the pieces.
Grayson returned home a few years earlier and has become a thriving businessman, but he is still haunted by the girl that got away and tries to lose himself at the bottom of a bottle with faceless women. when Grayson learns of Everly's return he just knows he has to right the wrongs.
When these two reunite sparks fly and the undeniable attraction is still there, but a lot of hurt needs to be overcome as well as some secrets and decisions that need to be made.
J.C Hannigan really draws you in with the conclusion of the young lovers but it certainly won't be a smooth ride as this book has some amazing twists and turns which will make you laugh cry and cheer for joy.
I loved this book and will be highly recommending it to all, great read and loved Everly and Grayson from the get go.

Reckless Abandon is the second book in the Damaged series by J.C. Hannigan and is told from the dual perspective of the main male and female characters, Grayson and Everly. It's five years later and Grayson still constantly thinks of Everly as the one who got away. Everly has made a name for herself with her band but still finds herself wondering what became of Grayson Dixon, the one who shattered her heart. When tragedy strikes Everly's family and she returns to their hometown, Grayson attempts to reconnect with Everly. Little does Grayson know Everly has some information for him that will completely turn his world around.
This book was a nice way to continue on with the series. It helped to tie up some loose ends left by the first book. I liked the way it was written in an easy to read manner with relatable strong characters. It was definitely emotional and those deep parts were written beautifully by the author. Grayson grew so much from the first novel. It was amazing to see the maturity of the character and how Everly handled the change.
I definitely would recommend this series. It was beautifully written and I know this will not be the last book by J.C. Hannigan that I read.

Oh boy! The twist I just wanted more of Evelyn and Grayson's story. I love the way this author writes her books.

Reckless Abandon picks up with Everly after five years of separation from Grayson. Her life has moved on for the better and his…for the worst. Unfortunately, Everly has to rush home due to the death of her sister and that is when her fears and worries come rolling back in as she sets her eyes on the little girl who changed her world forever…five years ago. This fragile little girl who’s life could have been lost along with her sister's in a fatal car accident. She must decide where her heart lies since there is no one to raise her sister’s daughter, but her dream career would be over if she stayed in her hometown. And then…not only is she back, but so is Grayson and she is keeping a huge secret from him.
In this story, both Grayson and Kyle’s characters are much more distinctive in desire and personality. Both characters know exactly what they want now…and it is a little easier to breathe with less tension between the two. My favorite character is Grayson, just because he has really changed and attempting his hardest to win Everly back. He feels that he can’t live without her, but doesn’t know how he can win her heart after breaking it so completely. The emotional turmoil is a lot more serious in Reckless Abandon as opposed to the high school drama in Damaged Goods.
This book targets women of all ages. I really enjoyed reading about both characters, understanding the hardships and restraint that both of them took to get back to each other. Kyle and his new woman, someone from another book series, are wonderful together too! I would really love to read about their relationship as well as Crimson and Cole. This story was very well written and creative. The author took a lot of time with the detail and expanse of character development which I liked as well. I rate this story with five stars since I did enjoy this series; however, I still feel that her Collide series was more adaptable to my personality and I am able to relate to it at a different level.

Reckless Abandon (book two in the Damaged Series) by J.C. Hannigan, is phenomenal. From the moment I read Damaged Goods, I knew this series was going to be one of my all favorites. This book is so much more than I ever expected, J.C. Hannigan has so much talent and such a great ability to bring you into the lives and hearts of her characters.
This book takes place five years after Damaged Goods ends and WOW. In this book the POV switches between Everly and Grayson so you finally get to see what goes on inside of Grayson's head. The characters have grown so much in this story and it's really incredible to see. Grayson is still the beautiful tortured soul that you met in Damaged Goods but this time around he knows what it's like to be without Everly.
Everly is rich and famous and living her dream but still something is missing. It's been five years since Everly has laid eyes on Grayson, but tragedy brings her back home and face to face with the one that disappeared. Are the years of heartbreak and baggage enough to keep them apart or will their explosive love for each other pull them together for good?
You don't want to miss the epic conclusion to this raw and intense story. Reckless Abandon will leave your heart smiling and butterflies in your stomach. It's the kind of book you wish you could unread just so you can read it over again for the first time. J.C. Reckless Abandon is the emotionally gripping sequel to Damaged Goods and the continuation of Grayson and Everly's lives. After the roller coaster ride of Damaged Goods, I was glad to be able to jump straight into Reckless Abandon to get more of Grayson and Everly! Little did I realize that within a few pages I'd be a sobbing mess. Again.
Grayson and Everly are older by now, and both are left hurting and permanently changed by their breakup and time apart. Grayson has come to realize that letting Everly go was a mistake. She brought light to his life, and he is determined to win her back if possible. He's mending other relationships in his life and is a successful businessman. Everly is no longer as trusting, and while she still feels a strong pull toward Grayson, she isn't ready to go "all in." Plus, she has a successful music career and her grieving family to consider.
I was super tickled with a couple of the twists and surprises in Reckless Abandon. I was so surprised and excited at one point that I squealed with excitement and was bouncing in my chair like a little girl! I'd say more, but I don't want to spoil the surprises. (I will say that I now I have a strong desire to go back and re-read the Collide series.)
This was yet another fabulous book by J. C. Hannigan! I don't say this often, but I will be recommending this book (and its sequel) to everyone! It was that good. J.C. Hannigan has knocked my socks off!

It took me a while to decide what I want to write. I'm in love with the entire group. And was so happy that I was able to read this ARC.
JC is a new author to me (first time reading her books was this month) so it will tell you in the 21 days that I have read her books that I have read every single one that has been published. Grayson and Everly's relationship had always been one of my favorite of all the groups!
Grayson fast forward five years. Everly and everything she was going through. I'll admit the first chapter or two I was confused by some of the "new" characters. Not going to say who but when you start to read you might think the same thing as I did. Who is this?
But as you go along see what Grayson is doing and what Everly had to sacrifice you realize how deep their relationship is. How much they love one another. And how when you find your soulmate the one you belong with, nothing else matters. Not even time.
Going through the motions with them, realizing that true love is not always a happily ever after from the getgo. How you have to suffer a bit to find that happy ending. JC's writing is BEAUTIFUL.

This is hands down my favorite J.C. Hannigan book!!! I read this a while ago and if someone were to ask me what the book is about, I'd cry in their face and shove my kindle at them to read it. Okay, my kindle is my life so that person wouldn't lay a finger on it but I'd tell him/her to get their ass on Amazon and one-click it.
Reckless Abandon has all the feels! I was a blubbering mess within the first chapter. The FIRST chapter. My heart was torn from my chest and cut into with tiny invisible razors. This a must-read. I'm not even joking. Grab Damaged Goods and then finish their story with RA.
Everly and Grayson's lives are so different in this book and I love how much they've grown since Damaged Goods. So much has happened. SO much needs to happen.
Just trust me when I say 'you NEED to read this book!' You won't be disappointed! <3

J.C. Hannigan has done it again with another book that will draw you in from page one to the end. She is a creative and talented writer who knows what she wants in her books. The characters are loved throughout the books she writes and she knows what the readers want to see. No matter which series she is publishing a book in her fans will love the turnout.
Everly and Greyson found out secrets about each other and were bought together by a tragedy. The question is do you think love will overcome these things or not? Will the fame and fortune become an obstacle or will it draw them closer together? Will old flames and enemy's cause more drama between the star crossed lovers?
One way to find out and that is to start reading book two in this series. I highly recommend all the books written by J.C. Hannigan's books and hope to see more written by her soon.

Okay, so the breakdown. A sad tragedy at the beginning brings Everly back home. No OW/OM drama. Yes Greyson was a man whore, but that was before she came back home. They had both had sex with OP during the 5 year split since the last book. No cheating, and Greyson finds out the big secret fairly quickly so it's not dragged out until the end. I loved that. Also, we get both POV here. That's so much better for me because really, who knows wtf he was thinking in the first book. I wanted to cut him in book one. In this book he's done a complete 180. Seriously, he is not giving up on getting her back and is really good about communicating how he is feeling and not throwing tantrums. A really nice epilogue and a HEA. Hey, I want to know what's happening with Marcus and Aubrey. I'm now just waiting for another one of this authors books, Rebel Heart. That's another good series.

Loved this book. What a great way to finish out the story of Grayson and Everly.
The storyline was a little slow but the suspense and twists kept you going until the end. I loved how the story ended, but I have a feeling the story may not be completely finished. There is just a sense at the end of the book that, although you know the outcome, there is more to come. Maybe that's just me.
I loved how Everly and Grayson were still strong characters and the story focuses on them more with minimal interaction from the secondary characters.
I wanted to punch Lindsey out (I think that's her name), she is manipulative and I was hoping to see something happen to straighten her out, but at least she's gone.

This was a absolutely beautiful book & wonderfully written. This book picks up 5 years later (after the cliffhanger from Damaged Goods). Everly has come back to her hometown due to tradegy and Grayson has to see her!! He has regretted everything about what happened to them everyday of those 5 years and wants a second chance. Everly is reluctant for more than one reason. Reckless Abandon has its share of twists and turns, but the pure gut crushing love that Grayson & Everly have is felt in every page of this book!! This was a beautiful novel and the first series I read from J.C. Hannigan but won't be my last!!

In Damaged Goods, Everly and Grayson had a combustible and intense relationship that ended on a bad note. Reckless Abandon, the sequel, flashes forward five years, but the the events from book one are still very present. Everly and Grayson have both spent the the time with regret and anguish. When their paths cross, they still have the chemistry and love but are scared it might not be enough. Secrets and deception also factor in as they deal with things. J.C. Hannigan has once again written a book that'll keep you rooting for the characters while guessing what's around the corner.

Spoilers if you haven't read book 1...
After reading Damage Goods, I couldn't wait to read this book and downloaded it immediately.. Just like the 1st book I couldn't put it down. After everything thing Everly and Grayson went thru in book 1, this book picks up 5 years later. Everly had been in LA with the band and returned home after a tragedy and Hadn't seen Grayson since he broke her heart. When the 2 finally come face to face- secrets are revealed and things heat up.. This was a great follow up... Loved it.

Another book that I read both early and final versions of, yet still forgot to review. I adored this book so much. It tore my heart out in some places, while in others it made me feel like I was flying. A beautiful, consuming love story. My absolute favorite book by Hannigan, and one of my all-time favorites in general.

this is favorite author. so of course I had to read this book since I read Damaged goods....but I was a wee bit saddened by this book. it didn't end well. an I just thought it could have been a but better like Book 1

Loved this book! I cried thru pribably the first half, oh the feels! The writing was great, and I felt every emotion the characters felt. Awesome book!
