Martial Arts America: A Western Approach to Eastern Arts

Rate this book
Whether you are seeking martial skills or are just curious about the fighting arts, Martial Arts America provides useful insights into a subject that has been too long shrouded in mystery, mysticism, and marketing hype. This book presents a very thorough overview of martial arts with an American (Western) lens. The only thing missing is a brief discussion of the many different styles practiced in America that would certainly be helpful for those wanting to learn more about the martial arts in a general sense.

I read this over a decade ago. At the time a great book and a critical book to read for those who were or are dedicating their lives to studying and teaching martial arts.
