Embers of Alour-Tan

Rate this book
The Engine of Creation, a machine of tremendous power at the heart of the albiz people's rebuilt mountain-city, lies dormant. Should the last reserves of its power expire, the city will become uninhabitable. Meanwhile, rumors abound that the ogres to the north and the humans to the southwest are preparing for war against the very place they helped defend two years earlier—the dragon city of Olkelban.

Outstanding Sequel

Where the author's first novel moves at a breezy pace through a fairly straightforward tale, the sequel layers in more complex themes of nationalism versus global cooperation while delving deeper into the lives of several beloved supporting characters. The revelations and twists never feel motivated by a need to shock but arise as natural outgrowth of the characters and plot. For a fun fantasy adventure with large elements of a political thriller, dive into the Work of Alour-Tan series at once.
