You have only one first time; may as well make it something to write home about. I'm a first-time author and a complete goodreads virgin. I apologise in advance for any stepping on of toes while I frantically try to learn the dance moves ;)
I neither connected with the MCs nor did I care for them. What I liked was the good writing. Though I think the book could have benefited from better editing.
Only one example among too many others:
After showering and changing, and a bit more sulking, she finally chilled out enough to agree to be taken to Amazônia Soul, which was, after all, the first spot on her on her original list, (…)
And I wanted to tell the main protag to tone down his tsk tsk tsk.
All in all, I'm interested to read more by this author, preferably a full-length novel, even though this short story didn't particularly rock my book world.
