Bridge with the Blue Team

Rate this book
Bridge With the Blue Team sets down the most outstanding hands played by the Blue Team, the astonishingly successful Italian team that achieved a record number of victories in world class championships. The 140 chosen hands are first set out in single dummy form so that readers can make their own decisions about how to play the hand before reading the analysis provided. Sections at the end of the book give a summary of the bidding systems employed and a chronological account of the Blue Team's triumphal progress in world championship tournaments.

If you play bridge this is a must have book. The Italians developed a bidding system that revolutionized the game, but getting to the right contract is only half the battle, you then have to bring it home. With this book you see what formidable players these men were.

A book about the best bridge team in the world for the period from 1957 to 1978.

The author is one of the members of that team and he takes us through a number of their spectacular hands.

If you want to stand and wonder how anyone can be that good at bridge this is as good a book as any.
