Aktion T4, a largely secret program approved by the Nazis in 1939, was designed to rid the nation of young children deemed unworthy of life. It eventually took the lives of over 200,000 children and laid the groundwork for the destruction of millions of Jews and other enemies of the state. Despite Nazism's defeat, its wickedness lives on. Today our world wrestles with concepts such as quality of life, meaningful medical benefit, and rationing care for the sick and elderly. Where will it end? Fast forward to a time and place where the future meets the past and the abortion/euthanasia movement reaches its inevitable conclusion. Family size is strictly regulated, the unborn are routinely aborted, and unwanted children are labeled useless and sent away to be gassed and their bodies incinerated. In this time of societal darkness, Mira Hastings and Grayson Stevens join a cadre of brave individuals who stand against this juggernaut of evil by putting their lives on the line to rescue these ill-fated youngsters from certain death. In a bold attempt to bring down the beast, they publicly expose the greed and corruption that drives the system. Declared enemies of the state, Mira and Gray are forced underground as they flee the wrath of a vengeful government. While on the run they encounter danger at every turn. But, with the aid of a network of supporters, they also encounter hope, joy...and eventually love.

I grew up in Southern California and was fortunate to see much of the USA and parts of Europe, South America and Asia before moving to Oregon in 1984. Married Ed Lewis on August 2, 1986. We were both working in the newspaper business and avid readers and writers.

My husband, E.G. Lewis, is the author of over a dozen fiction and non-fiction books. Ed's series, Seeds of Christianity, are inspiring and entertaining novels. His success led me to retire from my previous positions and begin writing full-time. It was something I'd always dreamed of doing, but put off too long.

We are surrounded by the beauty of native plants and animals that exist on the acreage we inhabit above the Pacific Ocean. I am grateful for the love we share with each other, and for the affection we receive every day from our spoiled pets. I love our lives together and wouldn't change anything except to maybe see our grandchildren more often than we do.

We are blessed beyond measure.

May God grant you Peace and Blessings Always.

In a dark future world, family size is limited, family planning is enforced, and a peaceful society takes whatever measures necessary to avoid the presence of the unwanted – or the useless. Of course it’s hard to determine the future use of a child, but the present is what matters. And little Robbie’s “present” is bleakly Orwellian.

Zara Heritage peoples her novel with a large cast of eminently believable characters, from innocent children to adults, some of whom enjoy society’s benefits without question while others risk all to affect change. One is a modern day abortion survivor who lost her arm in her mother’s attempt to lose her. Another child loses his finger, and a grandmother other loses the child she has loved and cared for.

Like the Schusterman’s Unwind , Cast me not away builds on society’s neglect for the weak, and its willingness to devalue of human life, hiding atrocity behind nice words. The abortion debate plays its part in this imagined future history, as does faith, but neither are allowed to overwhelm the story. Drawing readers in with intriguing quotes from many sources and a plot that blends excitement, action and suspense with thought provoking situations, the author has created a scary fast-moving story that’s well worth the read. Don’t miss the quotations at the end of the novel – the world’s wide history and faiths have much to teach, and we all have much to learn.

If you’re radically pro-abortion, this won’t be the book for you. But if you’re even vaguely near the fence, if you’re opposed to the devaluing of human life through death penalties, unwarranted war, or any other cause, then read, enjoy, and ponder. May our world become a better place.

I was given a free ecopy of this book and k offer my honest review.

Since this is Zara’s debut novel I was a bit nervous about how the book would actually be written and I was so pleased by it. The book is well written and the characters well formed and add a dimension of reality to the entire story. Set in the future when family sizes are limited and if you want more than allowed you have to get permission or chose which child to get rid of. Heartbreaking. Thought provoking. This book runs the gamut of emotions from the feeling of justice for an unnecessary murder, to love both the protection kind and the truly agape love of the Bible. As I said the characters come to life on the pages of Cast Me Not Away, from the bad characters to the good, they all come to live with Zara’s vibrant writing.

The scary part about this book is that it’s only a matter of time before these fictional happenings will become reality – in fact with abortion and even letting babies born alive after an abortion attempt die or be killed – is already coming to fruition. The thought of it being allowed by law to kill a child up to age 4 is beyond our comprehension, for those who view children as valuable and as blessings, no matter their abilities levels. What about the family that has “too many” and must make the decision to give their pre-born child away or abort it or give away a child they’re already bonded too? As the saying goes, evil triumphs when good men do nothing, and so Zara’s novel will open many eyes, or at least I pray it does.

**I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion, no other compensation was given.

Sadness and Suspense tempered with occasional Humor. Death and rescue due to heroic characters. If you love children, read this novel and pray it doesn't become our future.

In the 1970's no one could have imagined the grand scale slaughter of our young that would occur, or the increased deaths of young women, all by legalizing abortion. This novel portrays a future that many may find unbelievable, yet it's a direction encouraged by those making huge profits off the abortion industry.

It's frightening at times, but keep reading. The author draws things together in a positive way, bringing disparate characters back for the final scene.

As Harriet Beecher Stowe's "Uncle Tom's Cabin" helped end slavery, "Cast Me Not Away" should help bring an end to the greedy, corrupt, immoral abortion industry.

Cast Me Not Away is a story of a dystopian society where, in addition to abortion being legal, children up to four years of age can be taken to be disposed of in Facilities For the Useless (FFU). In a society where life, particularly that of the young, has little value Cast Me Not Away follows the story of young Robbie Wilson, who is rescued from a FFU by an underground movement.
One would like to think that the society portrayed in Cast Me Not Away could never exists, yet many of the societal aspects portrayed in this story are already starting to occur. Cast Me Not Away is a well written book that holds the reader's interest from beginning to end. But more than that, it will make you take a harder look at the direction our society is heading.
