His former works are in English while his latter in Welsh. He speaks languages such as Russian, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Welsh and English. He was a lecturer at the Universities of Moscow, Salamanca and Aberystwyth in the Department of English and completed works such as Derek Walcott: Poet of the Islands, Orwell and Waldo during this time.
