I loved him then, and I'm scared I'll love him now.
My life is basically falling apart. My relationship of four years ended with my boyfriend cheating me, I've dropped out of college, and now I'm moving back to my home town. And guess who still lives here? The love of my life, Gage.

But he doesn't know how I feel about him. I never told him, and I never plan to. After losing so much in my life, I can't stand the thought of losing him after confessing my feelings. It's better to just walk away to avoid getting hurt.

Besides, he'd never be interested in a girl like me these days. He's a big, bad, MMA super star. He's the kind of guy who could sleep with any girl in town. I'm sure me moving back isn't even going to phase him...right?

I will let nothing and nobody get in the way of my championship fight.
Not even Abigail returning to town. I've specifically made sure I never entered into a relationship with any girl I've slept with. Relationships are distractions. The only thing I'm committed to is the arena.

And here waltzes in the only girl that ever actually made me feel something. I'm weeks away from the championship fight, this isn't a distraction I need right now! If I let her, she's going interfere in me achieving my goals.

But no matter how I try to focus on my training, I can't stay away from her.

This standalone novel comes complete with a HEA ending.

DNF

Really bad editing, the author constantly mixes up the names of the MC's and cuz this little gem right here:

"I trembled in anticipation as he placed his cockhead at my entrance. Wordlessly, he shoved his entire prick into me. And as big as he was, I was completely open for him. His thrust into me was effortless."

Noooooooooooo. That made me clench. Hard. My ex missed and jabbed me in the butt once. I still have flashbacks. Nope.

Me poupe!

Gage and Abel
Gage wants to win MMA championship that's his goal in life and nothing else.
He fights to forget.... forget the love of his life .....Abel
Abel... after years now returning home....trying hard to avoid the love of his life Gage.
It's almost impossible to not run in to each other because Abel works next door to Gage his sport school.

When Gage sees Abel and finds out he is already two months back Gage is angry at Abel...
Why didn't he say he was back.... why did he disappeared years ago.... why didn't Abel love Gage in return when Gage declared his love after a passionate night.

Gage is hurt and has only one goal.... to win the championship. Nothing can distract him..... nothing...ha...not!! He can only think of Abel.

After they try to reconnect all the feelings are back. Only not one word about it.

Abel has an ex who is more a stalker and a obsessive controller. When Gage ask Abel to join him to Vegas to see the game Abel thinks it's a great idea, also to avoid his ex.
With their best friend Tyler they go to Vegas. Gage want to declare his love again, after finding out Abel loves him and always has. But first he has to win this game!
Only it's getting ugly and dirty with Abel his ex Andrew.... very ugly. Gage regrets the fact he didn't tell Abel he loves him so much...

Nice entertaining read. Some stress, low angst and sweetness. Gage and Abel are lovely personalities, very lovable. It's written in pleasant way and worth reading.
The end/epilogue is endearing and heartwarming.
A very sweet little tail through a free link is available when the story is finished. Loved it!

I wanted to love this like I love Kage. A sexy MMA fighter? That cover? Yes please.

But this just wasn't my cup of tea.

There was a lot of telling and in the beginning the drama came from silly misunderstanding after misunderstanding. (Which I hate)

And let's talk about the dreaded STD that Abel "may" have had that kept being brought up that was actually That was the worst red herring played up for drama ever.

I did get the connection between Gage and Abel but between I just couldn't take this seriously.

And for those that keep track-the book finishes at 68%.

Definitely a sweet story

The few sex scenes they have to use graphic language but the story itself is very sweet. Almost blush level romance aside from the sex scenes as mentioned. Didn't feel rushed but this was a short read.

Details. Details are very important. Him instead of her. Mentioning that someone brushes their teeth after puking before he's making out again because, um, eww, way to ruin a sex scene. So, yeah, details are important. Don't assume the reader can or will read your mind. Other than that the story was okay, although the jumping into sex without a condom or asking if that was okay seemed weird. I wanted to like the characters and sometimes I did, other times they felt so immature I wanted to smack them. Good if somewhat frustrating. I was given an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I read this book in one sitting, one cold winters night and it warmed my heart to read this second chance story of childhood friends turn to lovers. This is my first read by this author and I totally enjoyed her writing style and the flow was easy to read with only one or two editing small errors during the book. I personally would have liked the book to be longer, I felt there was more to be told about these two, also more about the sport was needed. I received an ARC copy of this great book and this is my voluntary and honest review. I am looking forward to checking out the author's other books to see what she had to offer us in more stories. If you are after a short read that will give you that heartwarming feeling but still give you excitement this is the book for you.

What do you do when your best friend tells you that he loves you? Well for Abigail it was to run, run away from her feeling and his. But years have past and she is back in her small hometown to start afresh but still hiding from the one person she would really like to see Cage.

Cage is training hard for his upcoming fight, the fight of his dreams and nothing is going to get in his way of winning the title. Until he see's her the one woman on the planet he can never forget, but he can not let his heart go their again not now.

I sooooo wanted to love this.
I was looking for mma romance.
Somehow I got wrangled into being interested in this whole Mayweather vs McGregor spectacle. So I've been looking for a McGregor type MC. I couldn't find one. I gave up looking, and settled on just an mma romance. So I knew coming in, this wasn't what I was originally looking for, but was still looking forward to it, even if it was going to be a little sugary.

This didn't work for me. Not because it didn't have the asshole MC that I was looking for, but for other reasons. My one big one was the word HER...I was completely thrown off by HER. Abel is not a her! I had to re-read it a few times. I wasn't sure at first if it was accidental, or if was a dig at Abel.

The STD scare, and focus was just annoying. The ex-boyfriend drama, and the stalker girl were just way to convenient. Solutions to easy.

I wanted more from the mma portion. That's why I picked up the book.

Positive. They did have some chemistry. I had some potential, and I never considering dnf-ing. I liked that they had a past together, and continued to have feelings from that past.

This is a interesting MMA, second chance romance and I quite enjoyed reading it.
This book is about: a young woman (Abigail) who moves back to her home town after she caught her boyfriend (Andrew) cheating on her, then she realizes that the love of her life (Gage) is still there. Gage is a MMA fighter that is training for the championship fight that is just a few weeks away but he finds himself distracted by Abigail
What you will find in this book is: drama, some intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, memories, childhood friends, rudeness, guilt, harassment, threats, eavesdropping, explanations, guilt, vulnerability, loneliness, unexpected surprise, emotional issues, advice, confusion, devastation, complications, paparazzi, winning, assaulted, declaration, happiness, lust, passion, love & a few steamy scenes.
The characters are quite well-developed with individual personalities. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written, the pace is steady and not rushed.

This was a new author to me and I'm glad I read this book. I think this was great start to a new series. I liked getting to meet all of the characters and it makes me look forward to more stories in the series. Gage and Abby are the focus of this story and they are a wonderful pairing with great chemistry. It's a great second chance romance of two childhood friends who become so much more.

Abigail, Gage, and Tyler were great childhood friends. Graduation day happened and the trio split up. Abigail left, Gage dived into his MMA career, and Tyler trained with Gage and met a girl.

A turn of events and Abigail came back. Tyler was excited and Gage was not.

Many steamy, tragic, exciting events happened. And then Mariah came ...

A decent read. Some editing errors. Some repeat storylines from different point of views.

This is the first book of Aimee's I have read. I am not a big fan of the MMA reads, but I found it to be okay. The stubborness of the characters made me want to shake them and make them see that they can be together and still achieve the milestones in their lives. I will try a second book of Aimee's.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it wont be the last. I’m not a fan of what I would call second chance romances but I picked this up mainly for the MMA aspect. I have to say it was quite a good story, had a great plot...no cheating! Gage and Abby had amazing chemistry. I hope one of the stories in this series is about Tyler. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

The book didn't really hold my attention and the story was fairly predictable but it was an easy read. You may enjoy it more than I did as it really wasn't bad I just didn't love it.

This one just didn't do it for me. It honestly felt kind of empty, like there was something missing. Whether it was plot, or character development, I can't quite put my finger on it. I've been a fan of MMA fighting (UFC & Bellator, etc) for over a decade, so I was looking forward to having the sport be a part of this book. I usually enjoy a well done MMA storyline i.e. 'The Kage Trilogy' by Maris Black is outstanding. So to find that the actual MMA storyline here is really underdeveloped was a real downer. Maybe the author just didn't research it enough to write enough about it. Who knows.
Another thing that really bothered me here were the love scenes. There were only two of them on page and to be honest, they were so poorly written it would have been better to not have had them in at all. They just didn't make any sense. If you read through them, you'll see what I mean. They were almost completely void of any dialog and when there was any "dirty talk" it was so creepy, like something you'd hear word for word in a really bad porn movie. It gave me the creeps.
This is the second book by this author that I've read. The other, 'The Road' I only gave 1 star, but I figured I'd give her one more shot. Nope. This author is just not for me.
So, ultimately, I don't recommend this one. There just wasn't enough meat on these bones.

3.5 -4 Stars! This is a toss up for me. While I would say this book rated a 3.5 stars because it just didn't do it for me on an emotional level. It's at a close 4 because the chemistry between the MC's was delivered. Gage and Abel were absolutely made for each other and I'm glad they got their HEA. Loved the epilogue! Overall, it was a great story and one that I would recommend to anyone who likes reading in the mm romance genre.

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy.

Gage and Abel had a bond that was created when they met as kids. After growing up together that bond only deepen and became more but neither messed with those feelings. After graduating they both are drunk and finally consummate those feelings. When Gage tells Abel that he lIves him, Abel runs away. Now years later Abel has returned home and those feelings Gage had for Abel only deepens. But Abel has trouble looming his way, a crazy expensive that refuses to let him go.

Gage is a MMA fighter and does not want to get involved with anyone while he's working towards his goal of champion. But now that Abel is back it only becomes harder to focus. Not wanting to let go he invites Abel to come to Vegas with him. He plans on telling Abel he wants him but that's going to be put on hold when Abel's ex shows up.

The story is exciting with just enough drama and happiness. I even enjoyed the extra epilogue.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This would have been a 5 star if there hadn't been some editing mistakes. Hopefully before the final book is published these are corrected.
I loved Abel and Gabe. They were such a sweet couple and all through the book you could just tell they were going to get back together. It was just about reading the journey and seeing what direction they decided to go and how they got to the final destination together. I enjoyed all the interactions between the characters. Tyler had a good point just putting in his two pennies worth every now and again. I'm glad Andrew got what was coming to him too.
The epilogue was good too. I love finding out what's happened to the characters down the line. I am so going to be looking out for the next book by Hayden.

Hayden has got another winner with this book. He has a very easy to read writing style and his characters are so well described you can picture them in your mind very well.
Abel and Gage are really well suited and the story line is written in such a way that you just know they will end up together but you have to wonder how long it will take them to realise what is right in front of their faces. Without Tyler's help the answer is probably never!
There were a couple of typos to be ironed out but as I was reading an ARC this is to be expected and will hopefully be ironed out in the finished book
I received a complimentary ARC and this is my voluntary review.

Got from Hayden Hunt newsletter for ARC, for a honest review.

The story has a nice steady pace and loved the characters in it. The characters pulled me in and held me captive to the end and felt like i was there with them. Gage and Abel had good chemistry together, loved their steamy spots. Andrew the bad ex kept you on your toes on wondering if he would show his face and do something bad. Another great story. hope to read more.

Thank you, for letting me read you story.

I totally enjoyed Savage. Gotta admit, it’s a sport I don’t understand, but I still like reading about MMA. I love stories where misinterpreted words/behaviours lead to a big change that eventually needs to get fixed and I love it when they are. I thought it was very fast-paced and both MCs were likable. I would definitely recommend this story.

I liked this story. It made a change for the baby secret to be a bit different to what might be considered the norm. Gage and Amy is a story about childhood friends, both having suffered tragic family environments from death to dysfunctional. The course of love never runs smoothly and this will they, won't they tease is written around a fighter - although the actual fighting is a small element of the book.i felt as though the book needed more depth to it. Tyler was the third wheel or the glue that held the friendships together (at his parents house) his girlfriend Shirley - so many unanswered questions about her. The descriptive elements lacked so I couldn't quite surrender to the story and immerse myself into it.

A pretty good read!! I thought that this book was very good. It was written well, and suspenseful. Sometimes people can be so stubborn when it comes to admitting their feelings and Gage and Abby are two prime examples. But it makes for an interesting story and it keeps the reader hooked hoping for them to come to their senses. It certainly kept me reading so I could see that happen!!!

This book was just OK for me. I really enjoy MMA fighter books but only been a handful of books that are MMA that I really liked because they had a little something different about them. This book I'm sad to say was like all they others that were just OK.
