The Toltec Teachings #2

Cry of the Eagle: The Toltec Teachings – Volume 2

Rate this book
Cry of the Eagle is the sequel to Return of the Warriors, introducing the more advanced teachings of the Warrior’s Path, such as the mystery of awareness, the dreamer and the dreamed, dancing with death, stopping the internal dialogue, stopping the world, handing the four natural enemies of man and Toltec dreaming. These techniques are all presented step-by-step in a manner that is accessible to everyone.

How can you overcome life’s challenges?

What happens when life deals you an unfair hand?

Théun Mares explains that none of us are victims, showing how victimhood prevents us from taking control of our life's challenges. In this book, he gives the keys to healing the past, how to use our current challenges to build a unwavering belief self, and introduces practical techniques for creating a successful and joyful life – however traumatic your past or your present.

Cry of the Eagle also contains a unique and highly effective guide to setting up dreaming – a powerful aid to self-transformation. It includes detailed instructions on dream analysis and interpreting dream symbols.

These teachings stress the need for us all to take full responsibility for our lives and actions, showing that the only way to succeed in unravelling the complexity of who and what we really are is to move away from the victim mentality so prevalent in the world today. If we believe that we have no power, we become imprisoned in a spiral of apathy. But through these teachings we discover how to claim our power and how by doing this we can make a difference.

However the Warrior’s Path is no self-centred goal in itself. Cry of the Eagle clearly demonstrates the interrelationship of all life, along with the incredible ripple effects of our actions, thoughts and emotions. It illustrates, in very real terms how, when we shoot ourselves in the foot, we also damage those around us.

This book consists of 3 parts.
Parts 1 - Living the life of the warrior: transmutation - is very powerful and about 'acquiring the strategy of a warrior', 'the attributes of warriorship', 'the four natural ennemies' one has to conquer, 'having to believe' and 'the mood of the warrior'. It speaks directly to my heart.
Part 2 - Erasing personal history: transformation - deals with 'stopping the internal dialogue' and then continues with 'stopping the world'. Then on to 'intelligent co-operation' in which a lot is explained about the relationship between the male and the female with a depth which is rarely seen nowadays. Lastly 'dancing with death', beautiful and poignant.
The last part - Dreaming: Transfiguration- is for the truly committed student. It describes the fundamental relationship between the Spirit and us, social beings on earth in a deep and complex way. No easy material. It then goes on to describe the technique of dreaming: the way to connect to the Spirit, the Nagal. Very practical at the end is a list of dream symbols and examples of dream interpretation.

Mr. Mares writes in a left-brain style, making a very logical argument for his description of the Toltec teachings.
