En Route Goa is one such journey of a few people traveling to different destinations. In this story, each one plays a subtle role in other’s lives, carving lasting memories in an overnight train travel. But they never knew they were just playing their part in an age old myth.

"Never judge a book by its cover." I read this line many times. And in 10% of the time book turns out to be completely different than what I expected. 'En Route Goa - A Memory Can Taint Your Dreams' - I was expecting a road/train journey towards Goa. But it turned out a horror story.
A short story. Started with 5-6 characters boarding a train, which was scheduled to with night travel. Passengers were A guy in his early 20s, a widow guy in his last 20s, two college girls, a nun and a 10 year old girl, two brothers. In first 30 pages were author tried to settle each character of the story. Few strange things happened before 10 PM. Main story started after 10 PM, for which you have to read the book.

En route Goa is a exceptionally thoughtful short story. From the title and blurb of the book I would not have imagined that it can be a horror story. I thought the book is going to be a story in which people plan to go to Goa and have adventures there. I was expecting to read usual cliche like a girl met boy and their romance etc. But the book turns out to be a completely different than what I expected.
The story started with 5-6 characters boarding a train, which was scheduled to with night travel. In the first half of the story author tried to settle each character of the story. There is no relation between the characters. Then how all these diverse characters fit in the story? This thread drives the reader through an intense race filled with twists and turns.
Initially when I started to reading i never thought that it would be a horror genre.
Book written in a manner that it apt for a movie script.
The plot is centre of everything, all the dots were converged very well in the end.
The story was mixed with the essence of mystery, romance, thriller and comedy.
The language used was simple.
The title is completely misleading, as there is nothing related to Goa.
The humour parts could have been better.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read something beyond ordinary and loves twists and turns.

This book is about a journey, that changes a lot of lives. It tells about the happenings of one dreadful night while travelling to Goa by train.
Different people with hidden secrets meet each other in the train. Two college girls, Sheetal and Maya were there too. Maya kept a distance from everything that was happening around and kept reading a book named ' My Mistake At Kodai ', which had a horrifying description saying- ' if you have read a para from this book, you know that I already live in your head '. It had this creepy vibes which lead to a lot of mishappenings of that night.
There were other characters too, who were weirdly entangled to each others' past. A lot of horrifying things happen when the train reaches Kadalundi Bridge and all the characters are bound to it. They fall into such a situation, that they confess their darkest secrets.
As the characters were from Chennai, there were a few places pointed out, that I was able to grasp and understand more. It is a quick, simple dose of Indian horror. It is a debut book by the author and turned out to be a good read, ending it with the horror story entering someone else's lives.

For a first attempt many authors would actually shy away from attempting a horror genre book. However if someone is looking for a refresh, breezy and easy read, En route Goa is your go to book. Its racy and has a thriller like pace.
Certainly keeps the readers engaged and specially the references to southern India and the train based narratives were a treat to read. All in all a decent read which is delightfully different from most of the usual rom-com genre books being offered to readers.

Terrible. The language and grammar make you feel you can be the next published writer waiting around the corner, and better. The title is completely misleading. The train journey is from Chennai to Mangalore, I have no idea why it's Goa on the title. Lucky charm, maybe? Can't say if that worked. Mediocre stuff. Sexist, what with all the dead females possessed and out for revenge - so unimaginative. Completely lacking in humour or good taste. It is just 58 pages long and yet I took a whole day to finish it - and that took effort. Another bad purchase on my Indian fiction shelf. I'm sad.

The author lives up to his promise. This book is equal to a movie. The plot is designed in such a way that it keeps inching towards the climax with every word. All the random pieces are connected very well towards the end. Its a perfect read for starters and could be recommended for anyone who wants to read but is scared of the large volumes. A satisfying start!!

A good horror genre to read. Initially when it started I never thought it would be one such genre. but when the story moves on u realize it .since it started of with rishi it made me feel the hero of the book is rishi. but actually it's not. Correlating things at the end was logical. Worth reading . way to go author.

It's a story about a train journey of an engaged guy who deliberately lies in front of pretty girls trying to conceal the fact that he has a girlfriend/fiancee; a Nun with an orphaned kid who sings to her dead father's cell phone; a guy who killed his wife; two girls one of whom acts strange reading a book; two guys going to Lord Ayappa's temple; one of whom suffers from compulsive lying disorder; and two workers. The night they are travelling is the night before the train's 4th anniversary of a gruesome accident in which 57 people died. And now strange things have started happening.

✍️ Good narration. At first it might appear confusing with regards to the plot where lots of characters keep getting introduced every few pages, but as the story proceeds they get linked together to form a very unpredictable plot.

This is a story of 7 individuals on a night train, for whom the dark past comes back to haunt them and change their lives forever. An incident that happened in the past - and was unjust to the victims. Their souls are out for revenge and they will only rest when blood is spilled.
For a first time writer, I was blown away with the number of chills I felt reading every page. The suspense is very well built-up even under 100 pages and though you will predict all thousand possibilities, the end will still blow your mind!

When I first read the title, I thought this would be like the movie, " journey Bombay to Goa". But trust me the movie was a complete trash and anyway the book is not at all related to the movie! It's a good book with a good storyline. Another misleading thought which came to my mind that the book might be a romantic novel but ya I was in for another surprise as the genre of the book is horror!. The author has done a tremendous job in keeping the story short, it's just 68 pages!. In first half, we see great character building and in the 2nd half the story unfolds!. I wudnt believe this book is a first by the author! That's quite a job as a debut author!. I congratulate the author for the book and wish all the more success!. Rating- 3.5 🌟.

The book revolves around different characters and a journey in Chennai-Mangalore express which connects their stories. Each character in the book had their own stories, lies, regrets which were strongly presented. The author definitely knows how to hook the reader till the end with suspense. The debut book of the author has all elements romance, thriller, suspense and horror which made the book worth reading. The characters got linked to witness justice and revenge of the crimes that happened in the train or with the person who traveled in that train.

Not everyday you come across a book where the main protagonist shares the first name with you. In my case "En Route Goa" was one of them. I read the books at a friends place and decided to order one for me and I bet I didn't regret it.
Somehow I always had a flair or first time writers as they bring freshness, this book is similar. Abilash (the writer or story teller he could be better called) has done a splendid job of keeping even a non- reader hooked to the book till the last page.
Taken out from the real world every character jas a different shade of grey, everyone is fighting a different devil yet the same struggle. The book rides sine wave while as the story traverse from a flamboyant flirt, happy go lucky, carefree Rishi to a compulsive lair and somewhat pshyco Abhi. En Route to Goa makes you traverse through various shades of life too : from the light note of a twenty something with dreamy eyes trying his luck to woo every girl to a guilty conscious man who set his own wife on fire.
More then a book i would say its a story well told and congratulations to Abilash for its maiden attempt. I felt the scene flashing in my head at time. It is a wonderful 2 hours read.
