This is a great book. It's great because I am a life-long resident of Washington and I have read numerous book on Washington, yet in this book I was presented with a lot of new information about places to visit. The chapters in the book are organized by routes that you would take if you were on a road trip.
It is interesting to note that another book by the same name was published about Washington's backroads by Diana Fairbanks in 2004. The book reviewed here was published 24 years earlier by Archie Satterfield in 1980, but the older book is much more helpful, in my opinion.
