Beth was a beautiful little thing. A nurse, a mother — so tough and yet so fragile. She should have known better than to come near a monster like me.
But she wandered too close, and I made her mine. For a night, at least. Then she slipped away. That might've been the end of things…
…Until I wound up on her operating room table, gushing blood from a bullet in my arm, courtesy of my rival Gray, the man determined to lead our club back into the underworld. I want another taste of Beth , but it'll have to wait. Revenge is the first thing on my mind.
I start to hunt down my attacker. But before I know it, Beth and her daughter get dragged into the crossfire. She'll have to Does she trust me to protect her ? Or does she run screaming for the hills?
"I can't promise you perfection. I'm an imperfect man. But I can promise that I will make you scream my name… Rafe. Rafe. Rafe. "
Comes with a FREE bonus Bad Boy Dom. Rafe ends at ~50%.
This book started off pretty good, I actually think the author has some potential and I liked the initial set up of the story. My issues were with what happens in the story.
The biggest issue was the hero treating the heroine like a child and spanking her with his hand and his belt when he deemed she needed to learn a lesson. It was not a BDSM situation where they both agreed to this lifestyle and had a safe word. Nope he is basically treating her like a child who needs to learn better by him hitting her. It felt abusive but we were supposed to think it was okay because she got turned on by it. No, it's not okay because she still didn't seem to want it, she just put up with it because he might leave if she didn't. With his attitude about women, you wonder when he might start hitting her daughter, as before long she will be another woman who he thinks only learns anything by him spanking her.
Another huge issue was the fact that the heroine left the hero alone with her child when she barely knew him. She takes a nap and just lets the hero watch her 5 year old daughter, basically because he told her to take a nap like a child (another instance of him treating the adult heroine like a kid). You do NOT allow your young daughter to be alone with a strange man you barely know and you sure as heck do not let that strange man tell you how to take care of your child. The hero did not seem to respect the heroine as a mature adult or respect her opinion and her ability to parent her daughter.
And my last issue is one I have with quite a few MC romances, the hero is in a Motorcyle Club which is supposed to be about brotherhood and loyalty but he barely seems to be friends with the guys or hang out and a few of them betray the others. So what is the point of being in a MC?
I feel disappointed because this could have been a good book if these issues weren't there.
I read this one yesterday and rated it 3 stars but I was disappointed. This book had the potential to be 4.5 or even 5 stars. It had as good story line and I liked the characters. What I didn't like was the fact that there were so many inconsistencies in the book, too many to take time to point out. One example, the h has been taken and is being held hostage and one character says she doesn't know where the h was taken and then two paragraphs later says "you want me at the warehouse or at the club." Yep, the h was being held at the warehouse. So many other things like that that kept making me go back and reread previous paragraphs. The editing was mediocre. There was a little too much "spanking" going on. Seems like all the guys were focused completely on spanking their women. The characters are likable and the story had so much potential. It's love/lust at first sight, no cheating and a HEA. And it's available on KU.
That was a hot scene at the bar. Rafe and Beth hit it off at a bar one night. Beth doesn't think too much of it because she'll never see him again. That is until he shows up in her ER room. Beth knows that Rafe is dangerous. The guy was shot at and is the VP of a biker gang. Rafe is possessive and demanding of Beth. He wants her and will do whatever it takes to keep and take care of his girl. I want to read more!!!
The first book was great. I really like the MC books and the alpha, bad boy men. These books make great boyfriend books......lol. The second book was good but I liked the first one best. I really like buying one book and getting another whole book for free. You authors out there that don't cave to selling your product a piece at a time ROCK. Cause I really hate that practice. And if you give away your first installment then wait several months to sell the next installment, you are taking the risk of the public for getting your partial story and buying someone else's work. Another reason is that if the customers buy many books like I do, I would have to waste my time rereading the first part before continuing with the next. So cudo's to you guys for selling whole works and then giving you public a bonus book. Thanks. I highly recommend this book as a great read. Happy reading. SQ
Had potential, but it got long winded for me and I pushed my self to read it. Some parts were so bit confusing and there were times.where lost my interest but I kept on. There is a 5 year old girl and her mother and her mom gets treated as her daughter but will some heavy handed spanking with hands or belts, I'm fine with the alpha Dom but Race was.a bit to controlling with Beth and how she takes care of her daughter and demands Beth not to work at the ER.
I got about 30% in and finally had enough. Rafe was way beyond alpha. When he continued to "spank"Beth, I had enough. No redeeming qualities at all just an alpha jerk. Beth wasn't any better. Having sex over the arm of a couch with her young daughter in the next room? Don't think so!!
I really enjoyed this book. I was pulled in from the beginning. I loved the male main character his cockyness and how self assured he was but how he had determination to sort things out. This was my first Ellen Harper book and I can honestly say i will be reading more. I recommend this book
This was a really good book. Differently a male alpha. I wouldn't put up with that crap lol. These two are great together. And the little girl is cute to. Lots of drama and sex but not romance lol.
Ellen Harper never lets me down when I read her books. I always know that I will have an awesome book. Rage and Beth's story OMG!! Love there story and can't wait to read more
This book was ok. I just felt the hero Rafe was an a**hole. He treats the heroine Beth like she is a child. He gives her orders and if she doesn't comply he spanks her either with his had on his belt. He is just a complete jerk.
