AWARE Inventory for use with Olson's Marriages and Families

Developed by David Olson and colleagues, AWARE is an acronym for AW areness of A ttitudes and R elationship E xpectations and is an inventory focused on relationship issues. The AWARE Inventory was specifically developed for marriage and family classes, to help personalize the class for each student and to actively involve each one in the class. After students have completed the AWARE Inventory, a 13-page AWARE Personal Report is provided for each student. This report compares the student’s responses with those of family professionals. The instructor also receives a 13-page AWARE Summary Computer Report, which compares the responses of the students in a class with those of family professionals. The two reports are designed to help generate discussion on items about which students agree and disagree with family professionals. The AWARE Inventory is designed to be administered the first day of class (or very soon into the class) using the AWARE Question Booklets and Answer Sheets. Instructors are asked to obtain first an identification number by using this URL for an On-line Registration The completed student answer sheets are collected by the instructor and sent to be computer scored by Life Innovations, Inc.
