Pediatrics: An Interactive Program

Introducing the first interactive CD-ROM designed to complement all pediatric texts. The first of its kind to let a user diagnose and treat pediatric patients in an almost ''hands-on'' manner, this innovative and user-friendly CD-ROM allows the user to select from five different areas in the hospital. Within each area are six more different case presentations that include options for history, physical exam, diagnostic tests, treatment plans, expert opinions, radiology and more. Exposes the depth of each case and directs the user to proceed in the manner of experienced clinicians. Contains excellent audio and visual material so users may hear and see cases as they truly present. Offers a list of questions appropriate to the chief complaint in the "Obtain a Detailed History" section as well as the answers to those questions. Allows users to order a wide range of laboratory tests -- including blood work, radiology, angiography, and echocardiography -- and examines the results. Features a "Solve the Case" section in which pertinent lab findings are highlighted, differential diagnoses are reviewed, and a video of a physician how the history physical examination, and laboratory findings pertain to the diagnosis. Asks users to stabilize the patient before making a diagnosis in some cases.
