Philip Wilkinson (born 1955) is the author of non-fiction books for children and adults. He was educated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He worked as an editor prior to becoming an author.

He specializes in works on history, the arts, religion, and architecture and has written over forty titles.

I bought this book as an addition to my coffee table book collection which features geography and travel as a retrocollection from previously published books.

Plain and simple. The elegance and beauty of the book is reflected by the neutral color of the river itself and a humble centerpiece of the boatsman across the huge expanse of the river and surrounding.

A great book detailing the significance of China's famous river Yangtze to its people's livelihoods and how it plays its part in many historical events which has molded China into the country it is today. Highly interesting and informative.
