Giovinazzo: The City That Never Fell

Juvenatium (Giovizanno), the somnolent paesello on the Adriatic Sea has a millenium history of brutal foreign occupation, viscious feudal system, Papal domination, constant jealous feuding (la maledetta domination); its citizens survived many devastating natural calamities-but Giovinazzo overcame these tragegies.

A little-known Italian city on the Adriatic coast gets its day in the sun in this comprehensive historical analysis written by Giovinazzo native Vito Magli. The author takes us through the entire history, back to pre-Roman times. Being of Giovinazzo origin myself, it interested me greatly but others without such a connection would probably get bored with the gritty details.
