Last Breath is the highly anticipated fifth book in the Gideon Johann Western series. It joins #1 bestseller novels on Amazon.com in Western Classics, Last Stand, Last Chance, Last Hope, & Last Ride. Now with a fresh edit.

Cattle are being rustled from ranches around Last Stand and seem to vanish into the night by the time they are discovered missing. The town and area ranchers begin to question Sheriff Gideon Johann’s competency, especially after a ranch hand is killed guarding a herd and Gideon fails to prevent a bank robbery. Gideon is about to become a grandfather and Deputy Finnegan Ford is expecting his first child – two births with life altering consequences.

Duane Boehm has written another western novel with enough humor, heartbreak, love, and outlaws to keep you turning the page.

Last Breath can be read as a stand-alone novel, but will provide a richer reading experience if the Gideon Johann Western Series is read in order.

Duane Boehm grew up on a farm outside of Petersburg, Illinois. All the time spent driving a tractor gave him plenty of opportunity to let his imagination run wild and not tear up too much equipment. The two passions he developed early in life were the love of playing guitar and reading books.

He eventually moved to a mini-farm outside of Murfreesboro, Tennessee with his wife and replaced planting corn with trees and raising dogs. For a number of years he worked as an IT consultant and continued with being a part-time musician and songwriter. He dabbled in writing short stories with the idea in the back of his mind that someday he would write a novel. One Christmas after watching "A Christmas Carol", he was inspired to begin his journey as a novelist.

A lot of sadness, a lot of happiness, and lots of bad guys!

Gideon has kidnappers, murderers, cattle rustlers, and the loss of his first grandchild.Duane Boehm weaves these and other people to make a good story.

What a incredibly good story!

This was a great story, loved Doc's family, was hoping that John would take over the Last Chance bank! Bawled over little Tess, and was so happy to see the bad guys get arrested!

Last Breath

This book will take your emotions up and down. I cried when baby Tess died, but I also laughed at parts of this book. I really hope there are more books about Gideon Johann.

Another great story. Reading this series does more to relieve my stress than all the meditation in the world. It's got it all, action, romance, comedy and heartbreak. This is reading for pure enjoyment and probably the best part is the good guys win in the end.

Good read

Last Breath was a good read,, but lacked a little excitement once in a while. A little more mystery here and there would have helped a little also. Blayne
