A lovely collection. I wished there were more stories in it, especially fairy tales, but it was still very entertaining, and more than one tale stuck with me long after reading. My favorite by far is the Pumpkin Girl - I have been telling it in elementary school classes and the kids love it every time. The whole book is eloquent, well written, and well selected. And the introduction is worth reading.

A positively delightful collection of Persian Folk and Fairy tales. These tales are completely different from both any European tales I have read and The Arabian Nights: Tales from a Thousand and One Nights. They have uniquely Persian style to them with characters who are both funny and gutsy. The tales in this collection are very suitable for children although adults would enjoy them too.
