To preface this review, this has to be my least favorite book of this series. It just seems to be a little out of place, and random. However, the characters needed a new adventures, and a personal character development when the past comes back unexpectedly.
Still, with that stated, I am still so invested in the story lines of these characters. While some are a bit of a stretch, it is so fun to see them placed in some USA history, and what it would have been like.
I do believe this book is the most quotable by far. All from someone “barking” their knees to “what devil took me arm off”, I was in stitches!
Not to mention the wounded and in need of help troupe is really growing on me🤕👀
The best in the series, in my opinion. I legit tossed the book off the couch after I finished reading it. I knew it would end that way and yet I still continued on. Great book. Stakes were high, the arcs were continuing, and the emotions were heavy. I love how the characters, though they come to Christ, are still far from perfect. It makes for an interesting read.
It sets up rather nicely for the final installment, but I might take a short break and finish some other TBR books I own.
I stopped reading 20% in because I wanted to read some other books, but then had to pack it away from February to June. Then, I picked it back up last night and haven’t put it down since (obviously had to if I was to sleep and go to work).
Through the guidance of his uncle and the retelling of various Native American legends, a young boy learns that everything living and inanimate has its place and should be considered sacred and given respect.
