When we think of Japanese Art we usually think of the things for the upper classes of Japan. But this takes a look at the everyday things from regular people. From the feudal period of Japan to the 1930's. It gives you a new appreciation of those that made items out of need and did them with care. Each area had different specialties too because of the big variation of temperature and weather in one end of Japan from the other. Well worth taking a loook at if you are interested in the rest of the people in Japan's history and not just the Samurai class and above. One thing that was difficult was the many pictured are numbered but often are not anywhere near the pages that talk about that item. There does not seem to be much rhyme or reason to the way the photographs are lined up in the book. AT least they are numbered so you can put the right image to the text but you will have to look for it.
