Ninety-eight color photographs reveal the timeless beauty of the Big Thicket, an ecological system unique in the United states. Woodlands and swamps, fragile ferns and rare orchids, feral hogs and whitetail deer are among the flora and fauna included in this stunning visual record.
This is a delightful coffee table book from the late 70s. I enjoyed seeing photos and reading about some areas of the Thicket that I was already familiar with and especially loved seeing some of the photos that I know I could go out and take replicas of today because the habitat is still so similar. Will be flipping through these pages again in the future!
