This is a well-written and clear introduction to Facebook for the beginner. It provides the basics of using and configuring Facebook and tells you (warns, really) about the things you need to know to protect yourself and to have a great social experience with the product. The only problem isn't really the book's fault but the fact that Facebook changes constantly and (apparently) has different versions for different users at different signup times, making it difficult to guide people through all the features with screenshots and so on. It will get out of date very quickly.
