Rate this book
When a strange outbreak occurs at a lakeside campground, Jake Walker and Lance Cameron investigate. Not only are they biologists, they’re lovers who share a passion for science.

The outbreak has locals terrified. Nine campers become sick; four die, and one victim reports an increase in her sex drive so serious, she attacks her best friend's husband. Is this lustiness caused by the disease? What’s behind the odd rainstorm that falls over a small geographic area and the strange red dust around the cabins? Is this outbreak a new disease or something much more dire?

Together Jake and Lance must find the cause before others are infected ... and before they come down with the plague themselves.

If you like a hot and sexy read, intriguing characters, and a little humor to go with the erotica, than you will love my stories. I tend to write about what is amusing and unusual, so if off-the-beaten-track appeals to you, you've found the right author. Curl up with one of my books, and enjoy a different world full of amusing characters and enticing storylines.

I set my books where I live - on the coast of Massachusetts in a small town a few blocks from a churning Atlantic ocean. When it snows, this town looks like a Currier and Ives postcard.

I write paranormal erotic romance, contemporary erotic romance, and erotica. I've also written erotic fantasy, menage, f/f, bondage, and even erotic horror. No matter what you like, I have probably written it.

While this is a short read still I enjoyed the romance story and the fun angle of woman attacking the man.

But then again being a sex toy blogger ( https://sexualalpha.com/ ) and being exposed to sexual topics more than average person maybe it makes me it a bit biased :)

Review from Eliza93Marie at Cara Sutra
http://carasutra.co.uk/review/roughin...

I received a copy of Roughing It by Elizabeth Black, from Cara Sutra to provide an honest and unbiased review for the Pleasure Panel. Thank you Cara for giving me the opportunity.

This novelette is a short read at only 28 pages long. Roughing It did not take me any time to get into and I was enthralled by it! It kept my attention until the very last page; and left me wanting more of it to read. However I didn’t feel as though it was an “erotic romance”. There are saucy parts, sexy times, and hot thoughts throughout. It just was not my idea of “erotica”. However it is definitely worth the read!

The story of Roughing It follows two microbiologists, Lance Cameron and Jake Walker. The two work together as partners but they are also lovers. When a strange outbreak kills four campers out of a group of nine, and one victim reports an increase in her sex drive so bad she attacks her friends husband, the men go to investigate. While there suddenly both men become sick. Is it the campers bug or something else? What is causing this strange dust around the camp ground? Will the victims get better or will this bug be the fatal end?

I don’t want to give any more details away so to find out for yourself you’ll need to purchase a copy of Roughing It by Elizabeth Black yourself.

This book is definitely worth the read! Roughing It kept me attached to my phone and I wasn’t about to put it down. I don’t believe it should be classified as an ‘erotic novelette’, however. If you’re looking for a book that will leave you hot and heavy, and in need of a drink this is not it! Roughing It left me wanting more. More as in: a sequel!

When an unknown disease starts affecting some campers, have two biologists the ability to unmask the source of the trouble?

Jake and Lance are going into field work, investigating an outbreak of a mysterious disease that is affecting the visitors of a lakeside campground. They have to risk themselves, in order to prevent this illness from killing more people.

The plot was interesting; it had a fast pace and it was very easy to get into the story. I have a soft spot for medical mysteries and this was very nice. It wasn't too complex, and the author managed to keep it intriguing.

Jake was a little annoying at times, complaining of everything, but not enough to make him unlikable; they both were nice characters.

I didn't see much romance here, I don't think readers looking for a heartfelt and breathtaking romance would be too happy about it. But what I did see, was a very nice established couple, with strong feelings for each other, that had learn to work together and are capable of taking care of one another. It was great to see the interactions between them.

The book was nice, but it was too short. I think the length compromised not only the plot, by making it a bit simpler, but also the main character's relationship that wasn't too developed. I also felt a little lost about the cover which doesn't make any sense for the story.

Overall it was a very nice book, fun and easy to read. I know I had a few issues about it but all of them weren't enough to stop me from enjoying it. It was very entertaining and I think anyone will be able to like it.

When I was 16 I had a job managing a video rental store (which was a thing that existed back then) and one of the perks of that job was that I could take the adult movies home even though I wasn't actually old enough to rent them. One of the movies I watched more than once was a flick about vampires, except when they bit you they didn't drain your blood they made you really horny. I loved that movie. Not so much for the sex (which is a weird thing to say about a porn, I know), but because the concept was so beautifully ridiculous.

And that brings me to Roughing It. The concept of this story is very close to that of the movie I liked so many years ago--two sexy scientists head out to a remote location to investigate a virus that is making people incredibly horny and then killing some of them. In the end, Roughing It actually feels like it's a part of something bigger rather than a stand-alone tale, and I would have liked for the tension to be dialed way up, but it totally transported me back to when I was sixteen watching that movie over and over again. The repartee between the main characters had some real high spots and I kept reading all the way to the end to find out what was making people sick. So don't let the cover fool you, there are no buff construction workers in this one, but if you like 90s adult movies with outrageous concepts you might find this an enjoyable way to pass an hour.
