Fun stories but NEED editing
A great little series here, imaginative and fun with a fair amount of potential. The characters are pretty well-developed, and the stories are believable, for the most part. I did have trouble reading through it, though, and would probably give it at least another star, maybe two, if better basic editing had been done.
I've never seen such disregard for basic punctuation rules, which made it hard to read and understand. The basic difference between "let's eat Gramma" vs. "let's eat, Gramma" makes all the difference in how a statement is perceived and understood. Random placement of apostrophes and commas, possessives that made no sense at all, a lack of apostrophes and commas where they were needed, and all of that in addition to several common to/too/two, wear/where/ware and similar typos repeated throughout the writing. It wasn't until part way through the third story that the writing finally started to get better and allow for a smoother story flow.
I realize the author has written quite a bit since these were first released and can only assume (and hope) she's found a good editing team to help by now. Even still, I think it would be worth the time to go back and correct how bad these stories are in their current form. The corrections needed would not need to change the story content, but they would make a huge difference in perception and readability. At present, I can't imagine paying good money for any of these books, never mind paying for any unread, which is just sad because the entertainment, imagination and presentation found here are well worth buying to read.
