Content/Scope: A dictionary for young children, kindergarten through 2nd grade, with over 600 entries. Each entry includes a colorful drawing and from one to three sentences using the word to show what it means. I would consider this to be a beginning dictionary.
Accuracy/Authority/Bias: This simple dictionary accurately depicts the meanings of basic words to help build vocabulary skills.
Arrangement/Presentation: Arrangement is alphabetical. This 160 page dictionary, with the aid of many colorful drawings, helps to develop basic vocabulary and basic reading skills. Young children will enjoy using this dictionary.
Relation to other works: Although there are many children's dictionaries, this dictionary provides an excellent introduction to use of the dictionary by young children.
Accessibility/Diversity: Illustrations do not show a very diverse population. Language is non-sexist. This book is very good for young children who are usually visual learners.
