Reprints of Ghost Comics, issues 8 through 11, and the only two issues of Monster (Issue 2 - The Monster), originally published by Fiction House Comics in 1953-1954.
Fiction House was an American publisher of pulp magazines and comic books that existed from the 1920s to the 1950s. It was founded by John B. "Jack" Kelly and John W. Glenister. By the late 1930s, the publisher was Thurman T. Scott. Its comics division was best known for its pinup-style good girl art, as epitomized by the company's most popular character, Sheena, Queen of the Jungle.
The second and last volume of reprints of Fiction House Ghost Comics along with the only two issues of the similar Monster/The Monster. Generally the contents of these issues are slightly more artistically interesting than the issues in Volume 1, and the real highlights are reprints of "The Secret Files of Dr. Drew," by Jerry Grandenetti in a style like the best post-War Eisner Spirits. The complete Dr. Drew stories are available in a much better form in a book from Dark Horse.
The problem with Ghost 2 lies in PS's awful printing -- shoddy, minimal reconstruction, panels almost too dark to see, over-saturated blacks, etc. Most, maybe all of this material is available to read free on-line and there really is no reason to own this book other than to give Volume 1 a companion on the shelf. PS has done enthusiasts of old comics a service with some of their volumes and an enormous disservice by their terrible production values with others . . . like this one.
